Caleb Baragar Heads To The IL With Elbow Inflammation
San Francisco Giants left-hander Caleb Baragar has been placed on the 10-day injured list with left elbow inflammation. Reliever Nick Tropeano has been recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move. Barager has done a solid job working middle relief for the Giants this season. He's got a 2-1 record, 0.52 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 14:11 K/BB ratio over 17 1/3 innings (21 appearances). He's also recorded seven holds. Tropeano doesn't offer much fantasy value outside of the deepest NL-only leagues that count holds. The team should provide more detail on Barager's injury later this week but elbow inflammation usually isn't a good sign.
San Francisco Giants pitcher Caleb Baragar will be making his first start of the year on Wednesday against the Colorado Rockies. He will likely be serving as an opener in the game. Logan Webb was originally slated to make the start, but will likely serve as the team's primary pitcher in the game instead. Webb got off to a decent start this year, but has an 8.15 ERA in September. Having Webb enter a game later could be a good way to get him back on track. Baragar, meanwhile has a 4.58 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over 21 appearances this year.
