The Philadelphia Phillies took Bishop Gorman High School outfielder Justin Crawford, the son of former big-leaguer Carl Crawford, with the 17th overall selection in the 2022 MLB draft on Sunday. The young Crawford has many of the same tools as his father, namely elite speed, and he should be a consistent base-stealing threat as a professional. He should also be able to remain in center field because of his elite speed and strong arm. The 18-year-old needs to develop physically, but he should be a future top-of-the-order hitter with a chance to develop more power as he fills out.
