Chad Qualls Hits The Disabled List
On Sunday, the Colorado Rockies placed reliever Chad Qualls on the disabled list with back spasms. The righty had recently hit a rough patch, surrendering earned runs in his last two appearances, and manager Bud Black said the back spasm issue cropped up on Friday. The Rockies recalled Carlos Estevez for the fourth time this season to fill in for an injured arm. Qualls wasn't being used in any high-leverage situations, and Estevez isn't expected to be used in any such situations either.
