San Francisco Giants infielder Chase D'Arnaud (knee) left the game early on Tuesday after fouling a ball off his knee. He had a hit and an RBI before leaving. d'Arnaud is batting .269 on the season with three home runs and eight RBI in just 55 plate appearances as a utility bat for the Giants.
San Francisco Giants infielder Chase D'Arnaud has been recalled from Triple-A to take Joe Panik's spot on the roster. He was performing well in Triple-A, hitting .292 with 12 home runs, 43 RBI and 15 stolen bases over 76 games. Allen Hanson will likely see the majority of starts at second, but d'Arnaud performed well in the minors and could be worth a look during Panik's absence.
Padres Claim Chase d'Arnaud, Designate Luis Sardinas for Assignment
The San Diego Padres made a pair of moves to shake up their infield depth on Sunday. Utility man Chase d'Arnaud, brother of Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud, was claimed off waivers from Boston. He played in 84 games with Atlanta last year but only made 11 plate appearances this season. The career .233 hitter has next to no fantasy relevance and will simply serve as veteran depth on the bench in San Diego. In a corresponding move, the Padres designated infielderĀ Luis Sardinas for assignment. Sardinas was hitting just .163 and will now search for a fifth team in four years to join. He is just 24 years old, so it's not too late for him to catch on with another club, but he hasn't shown enough progress at the plate to warrant rostering.
