Christian Friedrich Rehabbing in San Antonio
San Diego Padres starter Christian Friedrich (elbow) is scheduled to join the San Antonio Missions, San Diego's Double-A affiliate, for a rehab start on Thursday. He will pitch three innings after already appearing twice in extended spring training. He has been on the 60-day disabled list all season long, suffering from a strained left lat muscle and some elbow soreness. Friedrich is adjusting his arm angle to ease the strain on his arm at the release point. He will help the team by eating innings for a rotation continually barraged by injuries but should be of little interest to fantasy owners. He finished last season with a 5-12 record, 4.80 ERA, and 1.41 WHIP.
