Seattle Mariners relief pitcher Connor Sadzeck (elbow) is dealing with soreness in his flexor mass muscle in the right elbow, and managed Scott Servais said on Tuesday that the reliever is expected to miss at least a few weeks. He has been a pretty productive member of the M's bullpen, recording an 0-1 record with a 2.66 ERA and 1.39 WHIP, striking out 27 batters across 23 2/3 innings. He posted an impressive 0.96 ERA and 1.82 WHIP last season, which is very tough to do, but walks continue to haunt him. He has 15 free passes this season. If he can start to chop down those walks he is going to be a valuable fantasy option in leagues which use true middle relievers.
Texas Rangers relief pitcher Connor Sadzeck will serve as the opener on Friday against the Mariners, with Ariel Jurado following him. Sadzeck hasn't allowed a run while striking out five over 6 1/3 innings in eight outings (one start) for the Rangers this year, but he isn't on the fantasy radar in an opening role. Jurado shouldn't be used by fantasy owners, either.
