Evan Gattis News

Evan Gattis Hitting Only .195 At Home

Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis has struggled hitting at Minute Maid Park this season, slashing only .195/.249/.395 in 62 home games. Gattis hit 19 home runs and drove in 63 runs during the first half of the season but posted a .195/.252/.364 line since the All-Star break. Gattis' playing time has also been severely cut into by the emergence of Tyler White. Friday is not the best matchup for Gattis against Indians right-hander Corey Kluber. Gattis is hitting only .218 against right-handed pitching this season and is not a viable fantasy option in DFS for Friday.

Evan Gattis is Out of the Lineup on Tuesday

Houston Astros catcher Evan Gattis (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays. Gattis was hot at the plate, but cooled off on Monday going 0-for-3 in that one. He'll sit this game out, but he's still a valuable fantasy asset for leagues that are still going. Jose Altuve will serve as the DH and bat second versus righty Sam Gaviglio. Altuve is a great fantasy option for this game.

Evan Gattis Remains in the Lineup on Monday

Houston Astros catcher Evan Gattis will remain in the starting lineup for the third straight game on Monday. Gattis has collected five hits and four RBIs over the last two games. He's normally a part-time player, but the Astros are going to play the hot hand. Gattis will serve as the DH and bat fifth versus righty Marco Estrada. He should be a reliable option against Estrada on Monday.

Evan Gattis Adds Three Hits In Win Over Angels

Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis went 3-for-3 with two runs batted in as the Astros beat the Angels 6-2 on Sunday. Gattis now has five hits in his last seven at-bats with four runs batted in. Gattis has lost playing time recently due to the emergence of Tyler White but the slugger has swung the bat well the past few games. After a torrid finish to the first half of the season, Gattis is slugging only .333 over his last 15 games played. For the season, Gattis is slashing .232/.288/.466 with 17 doubles, 25 home runs and 77 runs batted in through 393 at-bats.

Evan Gattis Has Sleeper Value In DFS Monday

Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis has a favorable matchup Monday against the Mariners. Gattis has lost playing time over the last month to the hot-hitting Tyler White but could find his way into the lineup against Mariners starter Wade LeBlanc. Gattis is hitting .462 lifetime against LeBlanc through 13 at-bats with three home runs. Gattis is currently in a 2-for-21 slump and is hitting .149 over his last 15 games. It has been an up and down year for the veteran, who is hitting .225 with 25 home runs and 73 runs batted in this season. Gattis could find success Monday night at Minute Maid Park.

Evan Gattis is in the Lineup on Monday

Houston Astros catcher Evan Gattis is back in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Detroit Tigers. Gattis sat out the last three games prior to Monday and has seen his playing time decrease heavily. He'll serve as the DH and bat seventh versus lefty Francisco Liriano. Gattis should be a solid bet for DFS contests on Monday. Liriano has a 7.17 ERA over his last five starts.

Evan Gattis Drives In First Runs Since August 20

Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis hit his 25th home run of the season in the Astros 9-1 win over the Twins. Gattis has been scuffling at the plate recently and had not had an RBI since August 20. Gattis is hitting .196 over his last 92 at-bats and was slugging only .373 over his last 15 games played. The veteran slugger enjoyed a great finish to the first half of the season but has recently lost playing time to a streaking Tyler White. Gattis still has an outside chance at 30 home runs this season and his power numbers are the only thing keeping him on fantasy rosters at this point.

Evan Gattis Hitting .130 Over Last 15 Games

Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis heads into Thursday's action against the Angels in a 6-for-46 (.130) slump. After a resurgent finish to the first half of the season, Gattis is slashing only .208/.258/.429 in 26 games since the All-Star break. With the emergence of Tyler White, at-bats for Gattis have been diminishing over the past few weeks. Gattis brings plenty of thunder but beyond that his fantasy value is limited. For the season, the veteran is hitting .232 with 24 home runs and 71 runs batted in.

Evan Gattis Slugging .577 Away From Minute Maid Park

Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis has done most of his damage this season playing away from Minute Maid Park. In 55 road games this season, Gattis is slashing .286/.343/.577 with 11 doubles, 14 home runs and 45 runs batted in. The veteran is hitting only .182 at home this season as many of the Houston hitters have struggled to hit for power at home. Gattis is hitting only .184 in the month of August but does have two doubles and three home runs over his last 38 at-bats. The Astros are clinging to a slim division lead and will need to begin to hit more consistently if they want to hang on. After a huge first half of the season, Gattis has certainly shown some signs of slowing down.

Evan Gattis In 1-For-29 Slump

Houston Astros designated hitter Evan Gattis will look to shake off a 1-for-29 slump when the team opens up a series at Coors Field Tuesday night. After breaking an Astros franchise record for RBI (30) in a month in June, Gattis has cooled off and is hitting only .179 over his last 15 games played. Gattis has still popped four home runs over his last 14 games played and should be able to provide some power over the next few games at hitter-friendly Coors Field. In 44 road games this season, Gattis is slashing .292/.356/.584 with 12 home runs and will be a strong candidate to go deep in Colorado.
