Evan Marshall Fantasy Stats

Chicago White Sox reliever Evan Marshall (forearm) threw a scoreless inning in his fourth rehab game, striking out two, and has now thrown four scoreless innings during his rehab assignment. Marshall was placed on the injured list on June 30 with a right flexor pronator strain and hasn't been back since. It shouldn't be much longer before he's back, though, with his rehab coming to an end soon. Over 27.1 innings before the injury, he posted an elevated 5.60 ERA with 26 strikeouts and six holds. With a loaded White Sox bullpen, it'll be hard for Marshall to find holds, and so he can be ignored in almost all formats.

Marshall exited Tuesday night's 7-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins with right forearm soreness, allowing two runs on two hits in two-thirds of an inning before Ryan Burr took over for him. Despite tallying 26 strikeouts through 27 innings pitched this season, the 31-year-old right-hander has yet to replicate his success from the 2019 and 2020 seasons and goes onto the IL owning a 5.06 ERA. Reliever Aaron Bummer (hamstring) also landed on the IL with a right hamstring strain, and left-hander Jace Fry was called up from Triple-A Charlotte to replace him on the roster.

Marshall had allowed two runs on two hits in 2/3 innings pitched before being replaced by Ryan Burr in the seventh inning. He's been a decent option in SV/HLD formats this year, recording seven holds in 26 appearances with a 23.9 percent strikeout rate, although he does also own a 5.06 ERA. Like the team said, consider him day-to-day for now, although whenever you hear a pitcher complaining of a forearm injury, you should always be prepared for an incoming stint on the injured list.

Cleveland Indians relief pitcher Evan Marshall was optioned to Triple-A Columbus on Monday. Marshall hadn't pitched in a week and had basically become the last arm in the bullpen. He has a 6.75 ERA in nine appearances so far this season. His demotion made room for catcher Francisco Mejia to be added to the active roster.

The Cleveland Indians called up relief pitcher Even Marshall to join the bullpen. He had his contract purchased from Triple-A Columbus and needed to be added to the 40-man roster, which Cleveland was able to do by transferring Danny Salazar (shoulder) to the 60-day disabled list. Marshall has been excellent in Triple-A this season, posting a 0.84 ERA in eight appearances. In his big league career, Marshall has a 4.91 ERA in 91 games. He'll pitch in middle relief.
