Jacob Wilson News
Oakland Athletics shortstop prospect Jacob Wilson went 4-for-5 for Double-A Midland on Tuesday. The four hits included two doubles and two singles. Wilson also drove in three runs and scored twice. It was the second four-hit game of the season for the 22-year-old, raising his average to a robust .409 with four doubles, two home runs, 11 RBI, six runs scored, and two stolen bases. The 2023 first-round draft pick is known for his contact skills, and after a successful debut in 2023 where he hit .333 in 26 games between Rookie and High-A, it appears he's riding that momentum right on into 2024. The Athletics' top prospect (MLB No. 61) looks primed for a promotion to see how he handles Triple-A pitching. A 2025 MLB debut is most likely, but if he continues to hit like this, a late-season call-up isn't out of the question. With his type of bat, he should already be on dynasty managers' radar, if not already rostered.
Oakland Athletics shortstop prospect Jacob Wilson went 4-for-5 and brought in three runs in Tuesday's victory. Wilson lined his first of two RBI doubles in the second to break the game open and then knocked his second double in the fourth inning. He then brought in his third run of the game in the fifth inning off a single to right field. The top prospect in the Oakland system has been off to a scorching start to the 2024 campaign, as he currently sits with a .409/.438/.636 slash line in his first 12 games at Double-A. Wilson is a name to monitor throughout the summer, as he could force his way into a late-season call-up if he continues his strong play.
Oakland Athletics shortstop prospect Jacob Wilson went 4-for-5 with six RBI to power the Midland Rock Hounds over the Amarillo Sod Poodles on Thursday. Wilson knocked a leadoff single in the first inning and then proceeded to swipe second and third base but was unable to score. In the second, he laced an RBI single, which scored Junior Perez. Wilson continued to swing a hot bat as he knocked an RBI double in the fourth inning, which at the time evened the score. He stole third base shortly after. To cap off a monster day at the plate, Wilson launched a grand slam in the eighth inning, which put Midland in the driver's seat. This was only Wilson's fifth game at Double-A. With this recent performance, a promotion to Triple-A later in the summer may not be out of the question, making him an interesting player to stash in dynasty formats.
