The A's have avoided arbitration with outfielder Jake Smolinski. Smolinski, 28, will earn $775,000 in 2018. Smolinski only had 27 at-bats last season with the A's, hitting .259 with one run scored. With Dustin Fowler and Boog Powell both acquired midseason last year, Smolinski seems like the odd man out in Oakland. He is not expected to be more than a fourth outfielder next season and does not hold any fantasy value.
A's outfielder Jake Smolinski will be a September call-up. Smolinski has missed the entire season with a shoulder injury, but will look to get some playing time in September. He his .238/.299/.345 with seven home runs and one steal across 290 at-bats in 2016, but with a crowded outfield in Oakland he seems unlikely to make a strong impact in fantasy.
