Jim Adduci Recalled, Starts In Right Field Against Astros
The Chicago Cubs recalled veteran outfielder Jim Adduci from Triple-A Iowa on Monday and promptly inserted him in the starting lineup against the Houston Astros. With Kris Bryant(neck) and Jason Heyward(hip) out of the lineup for the first of three games in Houston, Adduci earned the start in right field and batted fifth. The 34-year-old, who was making his season debut against the Astros, posted a slash line of .261/.306/.478 with seven home runs and five stolen bases in the minors this year. He does have four years of major league service but probably does not have any fantasy value at this juncture. In a corresponding move, the Cubs optioned relieverTim Collins to Triple-A.
Detroit Tigers first baseman/outfielder Jim Adduci (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Houston Astros. Adduci has put together a fairly solid campaign, but does not hold value in any fantasy leagues right now. Niko Goodrum will slide over to first base and bat fifth versus righty Justin Verlander. Goodrum is hitting .294/.455/.471 with one home run and two RBI over the last week. He's difficult to trust him in DFS contests against Verlander.
Detroit Tigers first baseman Jim Adduci is back in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the New York Yankees. Adduci received the day off on Thursday, but is rested and ready to go on Friday. He'll bat second and play first base against righty Luis Severino. Adduci is in a favorable part of the batting order, but does not have much upside with the bat. He can be avoided in DFS contests on Friday.
The Detroit Tigers have recalled first baseman Jim Adduci from Triple-A. Adduci was hitting .309 with seven home runs, 44 RBI and eight stolen bases over 70 minor league games. Adduci will be a part of the mix at first base in Detroit and is a player to monitor if he can earn enough starts.
The Detroit Tigers activated center fielder Alex Presley from the disabled list, where he's been for just under two weeks with concussion symptoms since colliding with the outfield wall in Seattle. In a subsequent move, the club also optioned outfielder Jim Adduci to Triple-A Toledo. Adduci had also been on the DL, but for a much longer period of time, and manager Brad Ausmus feels that Adduci needs more at-bats before he can rejoin the club. Presley is not much of a fantasy asset, batting just .245 with one homer in 49 AB this season. Even if Aducci does rejoin the club eventually, he doesn't figure to be a fantasy contributor unless injuries hit the Tiger outfield in a big way.
