Lackey who is 39 would like to continue his career, but one would think hed like to go to a competitive team such as the Cubs. Lackey was one of the Cubs better pitchers in the second half of the season and given his postseason experience he wouldnt be a bad addition at the back end of a pitching staff. Hoyer said they will discuss bringing Lackey back. The Cubs will be looking at every pitching option available through free agency and trades as they look to improve a staff that will likely lose Jake Arrieta and could lose John Lackey.
