Johneshwy Fargas To Be Placed On Injured List Wednesday
New York Mets outfielder Johneshwy Fargas (shoulder) will be placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com. DiComo adds that Fargas received an MRI on Tuesday that confirmed the team's initial diagnosis of a left AC joint sprain that forced him to exit Monday's contest. Manager Luis Rojas said that the injury is not expected to require surgery, however Fargas will be considered week-to-week for now. It's yet another significant injury to strike the Mets this year, as Khalil Lee will likely see more playing time as a result of this transaction at least until New York starts getting players back from the injured list.
New York Mets outfielder Johneshwy Fargas (shoulder) has been removed from Monday's game against the Colorado Rockies. Fargas suffered an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder after slamming into the wall in the fourth inning. It was a solid effort by Fargas, but this incident could result in an injured list stint for the young outfielder. Khalil Lee replaced Fargas in the fifth inning. He might see a few starts in the outfield, assuming Fargas is forced to miss time. Neither of them are much of an asset in fantasy leagues right now.
New York Mets outfielder Johneshwy Fargas was replaced as part of a double switch with two outs in the bottom of the fifth, according to Justin Toscano of NorthJersey.com. It's unclear at this time if it was due to injury, but Fargas' exit came right after he made a throw to the infield on a Freddie Freeman single. Given the Mets' recent struggles with keeping a healthy roster, it's not unreasonable to be concerned that the exit could be injury related.
