Josh Palacios News
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Josh Palacios was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Monday, according to Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic. To make room for him on the roster, the Blue Jays optioned relief pitcher Kirby Snead to Triple-A. Palacios has appeared in 10 games with Toronto this year, slashing .250/.353/.250 with four RBI and seven runs scored. He missed a chunk of this season due to a hand injury, but in the past he has shown the potential to be a 20 steals threat when healthy. At this point it's unlikely that Palacios will play enough to have value in any format, and can be left on the waiver wire in all redraft formats.
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Josh Palacios had a night to remember during Saturday's 15-1 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Playing in just his second MLB game, the 25-year-old was on base five times. He went 4-for-4 with a walk and scored four runs from the ninth hole. Palacios had an impressive 2020 at the club's alternate training site and followed that up with a strong spring training. He's on the active roster with all three starting outfielders unavailable: George Springer (quad), Teoscar Hernandez (COVID-19 exposure), and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. (vaccine side effects). When Palacios last played in the minors, the former fourth-round draft pick produced a 134 wRC+ in Double-A.
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Josh Palacios has been called up from Triple-A and is slated to make his MLB debut on Friday night against Andrew Heaney and the Los Angeles Angels. He is hitting ninth and playing right field in the game. Palacios was called up after Teoscar Hernandez was placed on the injured list due to being exposed to a case of COVID-19. The 25-year-old Palacios is a strong base stealing threat who has a little pop as well. At Double-A in 2019, he slashed .266/.371/.416 with seven home runs, 38 RBI, 43 runs and 15 stolen bases over 82 games. He could be an intriguing fantasy player at some point, but his stay in the Majors this time around might not be long.
