Justin Grimm Back To The DL

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Justin Grimm is headed back to the disabled list for right shoulder impingement syndrome. Grimm was only back with the team for two weeks, and he failed to get an out in his last appearance. He's walked more than he's struck out this season, so it should be no great loss for the team. Pitcher Jason Adam was recalled from Triple-A to take over for Grimm.

Justin Grimm Activated From The DL

The Kansas City Royals activated relief pitcher Justin Grimm(back) from the disabled list on Tuesday. Grimm had been placed on the DL for lower back tightness after an atrocious period for KC earlier in the year in which he posted a 21.86 ERA in 10 outings and allowed multiple earned runs in his last five straight appearances. Unfortunately, Grimm didn't look very good during his rehab either, as he carried an 8.68 ERA at Triple-A Omaha, but he was nearing the end of his allotted 30 days of rehab, so the activation was imminent. Trevor Oaks was optioned back to Omaha in a corresponding move.

Justin Grimm Expected Back Soon

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Justin Grimm was having a pretty nice season early on, but then it all fell apart as he allowed 16 earned runs over the course of just 2 2/3 innings. Following the meltdowns, he was sent to the disabled list with back stiffness. Three weeks later, Grimm is on the verge of heading to Triple-A Omaha for a rehab assignment. Its unclear if Grimms struggles were actually injury related or if he was simply placed on the disabled list to give him time to clear his head, but he has potential to be a decent setup man for the Royals. If he can come back and pitch well, he could have value in Holds leagues.

Justin Grimm Could Start Rehab Assignment on Monday

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Justin Grimm (back) could start a rehab assignment at Omaha on Monday, according to manager Ned Yost. Grimm threw a bullpen session on Tuesday, and it reportedly went well. He's given up 17 runs in seven innings this season. Fantasy owners should avoid Grimm right now.

Justin Grimm Nearing Rehab Assignment

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Justin Grimm (back) is close to going out for a rehab assignment, according to manager Ned Yost. Grimm threw a bullpen session on Tuesday, and Yost told reporters that the session went "great." Grimm has given up 17 runs in seven innings this season. He should be back in the Royals bullpen before the end of May, but belongs on the waiver wire in all fantasy leagues.

Justin Grimm To The Disabled List

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Justin Grimm(back) was placed on the disabled list on Tuesday. Manager Ned Yost told reporters that Grimm has been dealing with back troubles for a while, and it had messed up his mechanics. Grimm has been hit hard for multiple outings in a row, so the trip to the DL will hopefully give him time to heal and get back on track.

Justin Grimm Massacred By Blue Jays

Kansas City Royals relief pitcher Justin Grimm started the season with 4 1/3 innings in which he only allowed one earned run. What a difference 10 days makes. Wednesday night, Grimm allowed six runs while only getting one out against the Blue Jays. This capped off a 10-day span in which Grimm has posted an ERA of 50.14 in 2 1/3 innings. Of the last 10 batters he's faced, Grimm has only gotten one out while surrendering five walks, four hits, and nine earned runs. Needless to say, Grimm's shot at serving as Kelvin Herrera's main handcuff is a thing of the past.

Justin Grimm Working Into Setup Role

With a slick 1-2-3 inning Tuesday, Kansas City Royals reliever Justin Grimm helped push the team across the line to their first win of the season. Grimm, a spring training signee, has now thrown two clean innings in a row to pick up a pair of holds. With a Royals team that's expected to struggle offensively, Grimm could see a lot of hold situations if he can continue to pitch well. For those in leagues that track holds, Grimm could be a solid sleeper even if KC isn't a very good team.

Justin Grimm Signed By Kansas City

The Kansas City Royals have signed free-agent relief pitcher Justin Grimm to a one-year contract. Grimm was recently released by the Chicago Cubs, mostly due to the fact that he was out of minor leagueoptions. Grimm worked in 50 games last year for the Cubs, and he'll slot into a short-relief role for the Royals as well. He shouldn't sniff any closing or starting opportunities for KC, but with closer Kelvin Herrera losing the job for a while last season, a solid performance by Grimm could keep him in the mix if Herrera falters again.

Cubs Release Justin Grimm

The Chicago Cubs announced on Thursday that they have released relief pitcher Justin Grimm. Grimm is coming off of a down season in 2017 and has struggled so far this spring. A converted starter, Grimm should be able to land on his feet in another organization.
