Louis Head Converts His First Save On Sunday
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Louis Head closed out the team's 5-4 win over the Atlanta Braves on Sunday to earn his first save of the year. Tanner Scott initially came out for the ninth inning while the Marlins had a 5-1 lead, but he allowed three runs while recording just one out. Head came on after him and was able to induce a pair of strikeouts to lock up the victory. Head is off to a nice start to the season. He's pitched 5.1 innings and he's allowed three hits, three walks and no runs. Anthony Bender (hip), who has been the team's primary closer, is dealing with hip soreness and was likely unavailable for Sunday's game. Even though Head has been pitching well, don't go chasing him on the waiver wire just yet as Sunday's save seemed like a rare one-off incident.
