Miguel Andujar Going to Cincinnati

The Cincinnati Reds are acquiring third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar from the Athletics, per Ari Alexander of KPRC2. Full details aren't available yet. Andujar has slashed .298/.329/.436 with six homers, 27 RBI, and 22 runs scored in 231 plate appearances this season. The right-handed Andujar has done the majority of his damage against lefties, whom he has victimized for a .422/.458/.578 line over a small sample of 48 trips to the plate. Andujar will improve the Reds' depth, but this isn't a high-impact move for fantasy managers.

Miguel Andujar Expected to Begin Rehab Assignment on Thursday

Athletics infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar (oblique) joined Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday and is expected to start his minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday as the designated hitter. If Andujar avoids any setbacks on his rehab assignment with the Aviators, it's possible he'll be able to return as early as this weekend for a series against the San Francisco Giants in Sacramento. The 30-year-old veteran has been sidelined since June 2 with a Grade 2 right-oblique strain. When he returns to the big leagues, Andujar should see pretty regular playing time between left field and third base, which is bad news for both Max Muncy and Luis Urias (hamstring). Before his injury, Andujar was hitting a strong .296 (50-for-169) but with only three home runs, 20 RBI, 19 runs and a steal. Fantasy managers in mixed leagues shouldn't be interested in Andujar.

Miguel Andujar Could be Out a Couple of Weeks

Athletics third baseman Miguel Andujar (oblique) suffered a Grade 2 right-oblique strain while swinging on June 1 against the Toronto Blue Jays and landed on the 10-day injured list the next day. Andujar will be out "a couple weeks, if not longer," according to director of sports medicine and rehabilitation Brian Schulman. The 30-year-old veteran Dominican has been valuable for fantasy managers in AL-only leagues despite his lack of counting stats, as he's hit .296 (50-for-169) in 46 games for the A's this year. He has the ability to play both third base and the outfield, too, giving the team more flexibility. Barring a setback with his oblique, Andujar could return to the big-league roster in late June. In the meantime, the A's could mix and match at the hot corner with Luis Urias, Max Schuemann and CJ Alexander.

Miguel Andujar Lands on 10-Day Injured List With Oblique Strain

The Athletics announced on Monday that they placed third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar (oblique) on the 10-day injured list with a strained right oblique and recalled outfielder JJ Bleday from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Given the nature of oblique injuries, there's no guarantee that Andujar will be able to return from the IL when he's eligible. The 30-year-old veteran has played both left field and third base for the A's this year and has hit just under .300 in 180 plate appearances, however, it's come with limited counting stats in three home runs, 20 RBI, 19 runs scored and one stolen base in 46 games played. With Andujar out a while, Bleday should see everyday playing time with rookie outfielder Denzel Clarke struggling at the plate in his first taste of big-league pitching. Drew Avans is starting in left field on Monday, while CJ Alexander is at the hot corner for the A's.

Miguel Andujar Back in Lineup at Third Base

Athletics infielder/outfielder Miguel Andujar (ribs) is back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels and right-hander Kyle Hendricks, starting at third base and batting sixth for Game 2 of the four-game series. Andujar was scratched from the lineup on Monday due to soreness in his right rib, but he'll be back in action a day later. The 30-year-old veteran Dominican could be a DFS sleeper on Tuesday in the matchup against Kendricks, who he has gone a perfect 3-for-3 against with three RBI in his career. Andujar is also hitting a strong .312 (39-for-125) on the season, albeit with minimal counting stats of three home runs, 19 RBI, 13 runs scored and one stolen base. He rarely strikes out but also rarely walks and has minimal power and speed for fantasy managers.

Miguel Andujar Scratched on Monday With Rib Soreness

Athletics outfielder Miguel Andujar (rib) has been scratched from Monday's series opener against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels due to right-rib soreness. Manager Mark Kotsay said that Andujar will probably be available off the bench on Monday, but the team wanted to give him a break from the field. Tyler Soderstrom is in left field and is batting third, while Gio Urshela is playing third base and hitting ninth against Angels right-hander Jose Soriano on Monday in Sacramento. The 30-year-old Andujar appears to be day-to-day for now and could return to the field when the series against the Angels continues on Tuesday at Sutter Health Park. Other than his strong batting average (.312) this year, Andujar has delivered meager production for fantasy managers in AL-only leagues with only three homers, 19 RBI, 13 runs and a stolen base in 125 at-bats.

Miguel Andujar Homers, Delivers Three-Hit Night In A's Blowout Win

Athletics third baseman/outfielder Miguel Andujar was a key contributor in Tuesday night's 11-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. Andujar went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI, capping his night with a two-run home run in the ninth inning his third of the season. He also added a pair of singles, including an RBI knock in the seventh. The 30-year-old is now slashing .319/.347/.442 and has lowered his strikeout rate to a career-best 10.7 K%. Andujar will look to stay hot as the Athletics continue their push for the top spot in the American League West.

Miguel Andujar Starting At Third Base On Thursday

Athletics infielder Miguel Andujar will make the start at third base and bat fifth in Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Texas Rangers and right-hander Tyler Mahle. This will be Andujar's first start at third base in the big leagues since 2021 with the New York Yankees. The 30-year-old veteran probably won't see enough time at the hot corner to gain eligibility there in fantasy, but the A's have the option to play him there occasionally with Tyler Soderstrom moving to left field once in a while. Andujar is hitting a strong .316 (25-for-79) through his first 22 games with two home runs, 10 RBI and nine runs scored. The Dominican utility man has gone 10-for-23 with a homer, double and triple in six games in the last 14 days. He has never faced Mahle in his career.

Miguel Andujar Done For The Season

Oakland Athletics manager Mark Kotsay confirmed that outfielder Miguel Andujar (core) will have surgery to fix a core-muscle injury and will miss the rest of the season. Andujar was moved to the 60-day injured list on Saturday. "Miguel's been playing with this issue for a few weeks," Kotsay said. "It's a credit to Miguel and testament to the character of the young man, really, to continue to play. It just got to a point where it was uncomfortable sleeping and impacting his daily life as well." Andujar has played in 75 games this year, the second-highest total of his eight seasons in the majors, and he was slashing a solid .285/.320/.377 with four home runs and 30 RBI. With Andujar out for the rest of the 2024 season, it should allow the left-handed-hitting Seth Brown to play more regularly in Oakland's outfield. Brown has been hot lately, going 8-for-22 (.364) with two homers and eight RBI in his last six games.

Miguel Andujar Goes On 10-Day Injured List

The Oakland Athletics placed outfielder Miguel Andujar (core) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to Aug. 25) on Wednesday with a core-muscle injury and recalled infielder Nick Allen from Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move. Infielder Abraham Toro, who was designated for assignment on Tuesday, has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Vegas. It's unclear if Andujar will be ready to return when he's eligible on Sept. 4. With the 29-year-old sidelined for a bit, Daz Cameron will likely be the primary beneficiary in Oakland's outfield for the time being. Andujar didn't make his 2024 debut until May 24 due to injury but has hit well since returning, slashing .285/.320/.377 with a .697 OPS in 302 at-bats. However, he doesn't have notable power (four homers) or speed (three steals), limiting his fantasy appeal on a bad A's squad.
