Preston Tucker Signs Minor League Deal With Braves
The Atlanta Braves have signed outfielder Preston Tucker to a minor league contract. The 31-year-old spent the last three years playing in the KBO League in South Korea. He hit 32 home runs over 142 games in the league in 2020, but struggled in 2021, batting .237/.334/.350 with nine home runs. Tucker previously spent time with the Braves back in 2018. He's also played for the Houston Astros and Cincinnati Reds. Over 243 games in the majors, he has a .222/.281/.403 slash line with 23 home runs, 68 RBI and 65 runs.
The Atlanta Braves acquired outfielder Preston Tucker from the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations. Tucker started the year with the Braves but was traded to the Reds. He's hit a combined .240/.302/.429 with six home runs and 27 RBI in 79 total games. Tucker will just be a bench bat for the Braves down the stretch and can mostly be ignored in fantasy leagues.
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Preston Tucker was hit by a pitch on Monday and is very sore. He will undergo X-rays. Tucker had a hit and a run scored in three plate appearances in the loss to the Mets on Monday. He's hitting just .250 on the season and has four home runs and 23 RBI in 143 plate appearances. Tucker has very limited fantasy value.
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Preston Tucker will make his first start since being traded from the Atlanta Braves to the Reds. He will bat seventh and DH against Detroit. Tucker was one of the hottest hitters in the league at the beginning of the year but really started to fade resulting in spending time in the minors. He should get a chance to play with the Reds' injuries in the outfield but is just batting .256/.307/.444 overall in 2018 in the MLB. He should be useful in certain matchups in DFS though. He is an average play today against right-hander Mike Fiers.
The Cincinnati Reds traded outfielder Adam Duvall to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for pitchers Matt Wisler and Lucas Sims and outfielder Preston Tucker. Both Wisler and Sims posted ugly numbers in their limited time in the Majors this season and are currently at Triple-A Gwinnett. They are still relatively young but are not worth a roster spot until they can prove they can compete in the big leagues. Tucker is also at Triple-A Gwinnett but had a decent .256/.307/.444 slash line in 62 games with the Braves before being sent down. With injuries taking a hit on the Reds' outfield, Tucker is the most likely of the three to see consistent playing time. However, fantasy players should wait to see how things play out before even considering adding him.
Yes, it's still April, but Atlanta Braves outfielder Preston Tucker impressed again on Thursday night. He went 2-for-4 and drove in five runs, and none were via the long ball. Both hits were doubles. Tucker is hitting .288 with 18 RBI. It's a great start to this season and he's one to keep an eye on.
Preston Tucker Drives In Three Wins As Braves Blank Cubs
Atlanta Braves outfielder Preston Tucker provided the only offense needed on Friday night. He clubbed a three-run homer off Yu Darvish and Atlanta easily won, 4-0. The three-RBI night gave him 12 for the season, which ties him for fourth in the National League in that category. The question is: Is he for real? April is littered with players who have had blazing hot starts only to falter in May and beyond. If you have a deep team, he's worth a shot, though the 28% Yahoo! ownership shows a healthy skepticism.
Preston Tucker Continues Hot Tear With Three RBI Against Nats
Atlanta Braves outfielder Preston Tucker wasn't intimidated by Max Scherzer or his two different colored eyes on Wednesday. He slugged a three-run homer in his first at-bat of the game. That must have made Max really mad. It was Tucker's only hit of the day, but it was his sixth RBI in two games. April is littered with players who start off the year looking like they could put up monster numbers. Let's just ease off on the accolades for Tucker for now but if you did manage to start him Wednesday, kudos to you.
Houston Astros outfielder Preston Tucker was traded to the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday, according to the team's website. Tucker was acquired for a player to be named later or cash considerations and has 17 home runs in 434 career at-bats. In order to make room on the club's 40-man roster, the Braves designated pitcher Luke Jackson for assignment.
After signing relief pitcher Hector Rondon earlier in the day, the Houston Astros needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster. It came at the expense of 27-year-old outfielder Preston Tucker. Tucker bounced between Triple-A and the big leagues from 2015-2016, but spent all of 2017 in Triple-A. In his big league career, he has hit .219 with 17 home runs and 41 RBI in 467 at-bats. There is a chance a team will claim him on waivers.
