Seung Hwan Oh News

Seung Hwan Oh Melts Down

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Seung Hwan Oh watched it all fall apart on Sunday after he already had two outs in the eighth inning while being spotted a two-run lead. He'd given up a single, but otherwise, it looked like he had it all under control. A second single wasn't ideal, but still, no big deal. Unfortunately, Josh Donaldson then drilled a 1-1 pitch into the seats in right, and Oh went from recording a comfortable hold to the loss. Oh has been one of the more dependable relievers in Colorado's bullpen so far, but that says a lot more about the state of their bullpen than his personal performance. Oh has yet to go three straight outings without allowing a run, and he's currently just another one of the snakebit members of that bullpen. There are much better short relief options on the waiver wire in most leagues that count holds, and owners should avoid him for the foreseeable future.

Seung Hwan Oh Expected To Pitch For Rockies In 2019

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Seung Hwan Oh is expected to pitch for the team in 2019, according to general manager Jeff Bridich. Oh told reporters in South Korea last week that he was considering returning to pitch in his home country in the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO). From what we have been told, it was much ado about nothing regarding Oh, Bridich said. His comments to the Korean media were not specifically about 2019. It was more about ending his career there." The 36-year-old was acquired from the Blue Jays in late July and went 6-3 with three saves and a 2.63 ERA in 73 outings with Toronto and Colorado. The right-hander has a vesting team option for $2.5 million next year with a $250,000 buyout. Oh was a key piece for the Rockies and helped solidify a bullpen that was very shaky in the first half of the season. Unless he's in line for saves, however, Oh doesn't have much fantasy appeal.

Seung Hwan Oh Close To Returning

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Seung Hwan Oh (hamstring) is close to returning to the team. Oh has a 3.06 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 9.7 K/9 in 17 2/3 innings for the Rockies this year, but he isn't much of a fantasy factor with no chance for saves in Colorado. He can continue being ignored in most leagues.

Seung Hwan Oh Dealing With Tight Hamstring

Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Seung Hwan Oh (hamstring) has been fighting left hamstring tightness for the last couple of days and wasn't used in the series against the Diamondbacks as a result. Manager Bud Black said Oh is day-to-day. Im feeling good, Oh said. Ive done all the testing with the trainers, and theres no leg problem right now. Oh was better with the Blue Jays in 48 games, but he has a decent 3.06 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 9.7 K/9 over 20 outings (17 2/3 frames) for the Rockies and has one save. The Korean reliever really isn't fantasy relevant except for in the deepest of NL-only leagues for his ratios.

Seung Hwan Oh Vultures Win In Atlanta

Colorado Rockies reliever Seung Hwan Oh has gotten back into his groove, and Thursday's scoreless eighth inning ended up landing him a surprise win. Oh relieved starter Jon Gray with the Rockies trailing 3-2, and he shut down the top of the dangerous Braves order to keep the game where he inherited it. Colorado then posted three runs in the top of the ninth, and after closer Wade Davis shut the door, Oh had been credited with his fifth win of the season and first since returning to the National League. Oh's strikeouts have been a bit missing in Colorado, but otherwise, he looks like he's just what the Rockies needed in their beleaguered bullpen.

Seung Hwan Oh Is Untouchable For Colorado

Since the Colorado Rockies have acquired relief pitcher Seung Hwan Oh, he's been outstanding. Oh threw another scoreless inning on Monday night to protect the shutout and bridge the gap between starter Kyle Freeland and closer Wade Davis. That now gives him six innings with the Rockies, and he's yet to give up a run. In a bullpen that has been as volatile as Colorado's this season, that's an amazing accomplishment. He's already racked up four holds and a save, and as long as he can avoid the meltdown bug that seems to spread amongst Colorado relievers, he should be a dependable setup man from here on out.

Seung Hwan Oh Officially Dealt To Rockies

The Colorado Rockies have officially acquired relief pitcher Seung Hwan Oh from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for first baseman Chad Spanberger, outfielder Forrest Wall, and a player to be named later. Oh should help settle down the rocky middle innings for Colorado, and the hope is that this will take some pressure off some of the other relievers as the Rockies make a push for the playoffs. Colorado has had one of the worst bullpens in baseball this season.

Rockies Close To Acquiring Seung Hwan Oh

The Colorado Rockies are close to landing Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Seung Hwan Oh. This makes total sense, as the Rockies have one of the worst bullpens in all of baseball. Even closer Wade Davis is 0-3 with a bloated 4.61 ERA and 1.22 WHIP despite 28 saves. Oh would immediately become the team's best setup man and could possibly pitch the ninth inning if Davis continues to falter. The Korean reliever has a nice 2.68 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 55 K's in 47 innings this year.

Seung Hwan Oh Pitches Ninth Inning Saturday

Toronto Blue Jays relief pitcher Seung Hwan Oh got the call in the ninth inning of Saturdays 4-3 win over the Tigers. Oh entered the game tied and allowed no runs on a hit and a walk with a strikeout. The Blue Jays walked off with a win in the bottom of the ninth, so Oh got the win rather than a save, but it is noteworthy that he was used in the ninth, rather than bullpen mate Tyler Clippard. With closer Ryan Tepera (elbow) on the 10-day DL with right elbow inflammation, it will remain to be seen if Oh or Clippard receive more save situations or if they end up splitting closing time.

Seung Hwan Oh Notches Save For Toronto On Monday

Toronto Blue Jays reliever Seung Hwan Oh got the call in the ninth inning for the Blue Jays on Monday against the Houston Astros, but for owners of normal closer Ryan Tepera, you dont need to worry, as this seems to be a one-time deal. Tepera got a rest on Monday after blowing a save on Sunday, but he had thrown 33 pitches over the last two days and needed a breather. For what its worth, Oh allowed a single and a walk with two strikeouts while picking up the save, but theres absolutely no reason to run out and own him unless youre in a holds league. Tepera is still the guy in Toronto, and it would be surprising if that wasnt the case by the time Roberto Osuna gets back in late August.
