St. Louis Cardinals catcher Steven Baron was outrighted to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. Baron was designated for assignment earlier in the week, but all other teams passed him up on waivers, so he will remain in the Cardinals organization. He's an all-defense catcher, and should continue to serve as veteran depth at the Triple-A level. He is no longer on the Cardinals' 40-man roster.
