Tim Beckham Outrighted

Minnesota Twins shortstop Tim Beckham cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and was outrighted to Triple-A St. Paul, so he'll remain with the organization. Beckham was dropped from the 40-man roster when the Twins reinstated outfielder Kyle Garlick from the injured list recently. The 32-year-old only appeared in 12 games for Minnesota, going 2-for-25 (.080) with no home runs, one RBI, one run scored and nine strikeouts. He'll continue to provide middle infield depth for the Twins in the minors, but he's well off the fantasy radar at this time.

Twins Sign Tim Beckham To Minor League Deal

The Minnesota Twins have decided to sign infielder Tim Beckham to a minor league deal. The former first overall draft pick from 2008 hasn't played in the MLB since 2019 with the Seattle Mariners. Beckham spent time in the minor league system with the Chicago White Sox last year. However, Beckham only managed to play 45 games all season due to a knee injury. He has a .249/.302/.431 slash line with 63 home runs and 13 stolen bases in the MLB since his debut in 2013. He'll have a chance to make the roster as depth, but doesn't appear to be someone who would make an impact in fantasy leagues.

Orioles Interested In Tim Beckham

The Baltimore Orioles are interested in shortstop Tim Beckham and have discussed a minor league deal with him, according to multiple sources. Beckham spent 1 1/2 seasons in Baltimore. He was handed an 80-game performance-enhancing suspension on Aug. 6 of last year, so he will start the 2020 season serving the rest of that suspension. The 29-year-old (30 on Monday) hit just .237/.293/.461 with 21 doubles, a triple, 15 home runs and 47 RBI in 328 plate appearances with the Mariners last year. Beckham got off to a nice start last season but predictably faded and was then hit with the suspension. He could see plenty of playing time at shortstop if he lands with the O's, but he'd merely be a depth option in AL-only leagues.

Mariners Non-Tender Domingo Santana, Tim Beckham

The Seattle Mariners non-tendered outfielder Domingo Santana and shortstop Tim Beckham on Monday, making them both free agents. Santana had a nice .850 OPS but was projected to make $4.4 million in arbitration, and he slashed a putrid .128/.234/.234 with a 44 percent strikeout rate in the second half. He's also a liability on defense, but he can produce for fantasy owners given his power potential if he lands in the right situation. Beckham was projected to make $3 million in arbitration but will also miss the beginning of the 2020 while he completes an 80-game suspension for performance-enhancing drugs.

Tim Beckham Suspended 80 Games

Seattle Mariners shortstop Tim Beckham has been suspended 80 games for testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. This will keep him out of all remaining games for this season and significantly push back his start next season. The 29-year-old was fourth on the team with 47 RBI while hitting .237 with 15 home runs. You can safely drop him in all redraft leagues now that he will not play again in 2019. Dylan Moore and Ryan Court might stand to see most of the playing time in the near future, but both are more of AL-only commodities without consistent at-bats.

Tim Beckham Back in Lineup Sunday

Seattle Mariners outfielder Tim Beckham is back in the starting lineup on Sunday against the Astros, and he will be batting sixth in the lineup. Over his last 10 games, Beckham is hitting .257 with four doubles, a home run, seven runs and seven RBI. Beckham could be a good play against Astros starter Justin Verlander today, as he is 5-for-12 with two home runs in his career against Verlander.

Tim Beckham Suffers From Oblique Tightness Wednesday

Seattle Mariners infielder Tim Beckham (oblique) left the game early on Wednesday with oblique tightness. He's considered day-to-day and will be re-evaluated on Thursday. Beckham had an RBI single in his lone plate appearance before departing and is now hitting .243/.300/.473 with 15 home runs, 39 runs scored and 47 RBI in his 320 plate appearances this year. Prepare for a potential injured list stint, although Beckham's owners in deeper leagues will be hoping he only misses a day or two at the most. After a hot start, the 29-year-old has predictably slowed down in 2019.

Tim Beckham’s Grand Slam Powers Mariners Victory

Seattle Mariners new utility man Tim Beckham launched a go-ahead grand slam in the third inning, setting the tone for the teams 10-2 defeat over the Tigers Thursday. He finished the contest going 1-for-5 with three punchouts, which has summed up his season as a whole. Beckham has impressed in the power department slugging 15 dingers on the season, but his 30.8% K-rate has left him with an undesirable .235 batting average. Coming out of spring training as the everyday shortstop, hes ceded all playing time to J.P. Crawford, but has still found ways to enter the lineup by playing the corner infield spots as well as left field. Beckham remains a boom or bust player on a daily basis and hasnt shown much consistency to earn the moniker of a significant fantasy asset.

Tim Beckham is Sitting on Wednesday

Seattle Mariners infielder Tim Beckham (rest) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Houston Astros. Beckham is hitless over his last four games and will ride the bench in this one. Dylan Moore will draw the start at shortstop and bat ninth versus righty Brad Peacock. Moore is batting too low in the order and doesn't have enough upside to warrant using in DFS contests on Wednesday.

Tim Beckham Out Of Lineup

Seattle Mariners shortstop Tim Beckham is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday. Dylan Moore, fresh off the injured list, is starting at third base and is hitting seventh against Rangers starting pitcher Jesse Chavez. Even though he'll face some nice pitching matchups in this one, Moore just doesn't excite fantasy owners in any format. He's hitting .229/.339/.417 in 48 at-bats with two homers, five RBI and two stolen bases on the season. You can do better.
