Trevor Rogers Sharp Again on Wednesday, Continues to Produce as High-End Starting Pitcher

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Trevor Rogers turned in another outstanding outing on Wednesday, pitching six strong innings against the Rangers. Rogers had just three strikeouts, but allowed only six hits in six innings against Texas, improving to 2-0 in his two starts this season. Rogers has only allowed two runs in his 13 innings this season, already logging a pair of quality starts and posting a 1.38 ERA and 3.32 FIP. He had 13 quality starts in 18 outings with a 1.81 ERA last year, and this season, he's proving that production was no fluke. His strikeout production has been low in his two starts, but he looked sharp in spring training, indicating the strikeouts could follow soon. The Orioles and his fantasy managers have to be thrilled with the start of the year for the 28-year-old lefty, who is scheduled to face the White Sox in his next start on Tuesday.

Trevor Rogers to Start on Opening Day for Orioles

Baltimore Orioles left-hander Trevor Rogers will get the nod on Opening Day this year for the team, manager Craig Albernaz told Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun. Rogers will take the hill to get things kicked off on March 26 against the Minnesota Twins. The 28-year-old southpaw was traded from the Miami Marlins to Baltimore in the middle of the 2024 season and struggled so much with the O's that he was sent to the minors. 2025 was a different story for Rogers, though, as he went 9-3 with a 1.81 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, and 103:29 K:BB in 109 2/3 innings pitched over his 18 starts for the team. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect similar numbers in 2026 if Rogers can pitch for a full season, but he showed last year that he still has plenty left in the tank. He's worth considering as a No. 4 or 5 starter later in fantasy drafts with the upside to be a SP2 if everything goes right. In his season debut against the Twins, Rogers will be a cheap DFS play in a good matchup.

Trevor Rogers to Repeat Dominant Season?

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Trevor Rogers drastically exceeded expectations during an injury-delayed 2025 season, and he'll look for repeat success in 2026. The southpaw missed the first month and a half due to a knee subluxation, and he also spent some time in the minors after being optioned to Triple-A. However, after he was recalled to Baltimore for a second time in June, he broke out and proved he was there to stay. He finished the year with a 1.81 ERA and 2.82 FIP across 18 starts, posting 8.45 K/9 and 2.38 BB/9. He also showed that he was able to limit hard contact with a 46% ground ball rate and 0.49 HR/9. Rogers doesn't have overpowering fastball velocity, but he used his above-average slider and ability to induce weak contact to carry him to such dominant 2025 results. Heading into 2026, fans and fantasy managers are eager to see if his success is sustainable. His 3.64 xFIP indicates that he's due for a little regression, but can still be a very effective starter in MLB. As it stands, he ranks as the #46 starting pitcher in RotoBaller's latest fantasy baseball rankings for 2026.

Trevor Rogers in Line to Start on Friday

Baltimore Orioles left-hander Trevor Rogers (toe) is listed as the team's probable starter for Friday's contest against the division-rival New York Yankees, according to Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports. Rogers was pulled from his last start early on Friday against the Toronto Blue Jays after he developed a blood blister under the nail of his left big toe. He won't end up missing a turn in Baltimore's rotation, though, and will get the ball in a tough matchup against the Yanks this weekend. The 27-year-old southpaw has bounced back in a big way with the O's in 2025 after he was sent to the minors a year ago following a tough stretch after the club acquired him in a trade with the Miami Marlins. Although it's not an ideal matchup on Friday, Rogers has been money in his 15 starts with Baltimore over 94 1/3 frames, posting a 1.53 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 88:24 K:BB while going 8-2.

Trevor Rogers Exits with Toe Discomfort

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Trevor Rogers (toe) was removed early during Friday's outing against the Toronto Blue Jays. Rogers was pulled after five innings of work due to left toe discomfort. Before exiting, Rogers allowed one unearned run on three hits, while walking four batters, and striking out six hitters across five innings of work. The expectation is that Rogers will undergo further evaluation. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day. Fantasy managers will need to check back to see if this impacts Rogers making his next start.

Trevor Rogers Continues Dominant Run in Win

Baltimore Orioles left-hander Trevor Rogers (8-2) continued an incredible run and notched his eighth win of the season in an 11-1 drubbing of the San Francisco Giants on Saturday. Rogers recorded his fourth straight start of seven-inning, one-run ball and allowed five hits with no walks and five strikeouts. That's now nine quality starts in a row for Rogers, who has unexpectedly performed like an ace since he made his 2025 debut on May 24. Rogers mostly put up mediocre production with the Miami Marlins from 2020-24 and struggled with the Orioles after they acquired him for outfielder Kyle Stowers and third baseman Connor Norby in June 2024. Baltimore has received no shortage of ridicule for that trade during Stowers' breakout season, but Rogers has done his best to justify the deal from the O's standpoint. He owns an absurd 1.39 ERA with a .82 WHIP and 81:19 K:BB in 90 1/3 innings. While Rogers easily ranks first in ERA among pitchers who have amassed 90-plus innings, he hasn't racked up enough frames to qualify for the title. Regardless, he has been one of the best pitchers in the league in 2025. The 27-year-old will face a significant challenge when he takes the ball against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sept. 6.

Trevor Rogers Throws Another Stellar Outing

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Trevor Rogers was once again excellent on the mound during Sunday's start against the Houston Astros. Rogers has been unbelievable on the mound and the Astros had no answers for him on Sunday. He tossed seven innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out a season-high nine batters. Rogers has allowed one run or less in six straight outings. He'll take an outstanding 1.40 ERA across 13 starts into his next outing against the San Francisco Giants. If available, fantasy managers should scoop up Rogers ahead of his next start.

Orioles Unlikely to Trade Trevor Rogers, Felix Bautista

The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal reports that it's unlikely that either left-hander Trevor Rogers or closer Felix Bautista will be traded at this year's deadline, according to a source briefed on the team's plans. The Orioles are listening on Rogers, but he's under control for one more season, and the Orioles plan on contending in 2026. The 27-year-old Rogers' debut with Baltimore last August was rough and led to him being sent down to the minors. He then began the 2025 season on the injured list, while outfielder Kyle Stowers, who the O's traded to Miami in exchange for Rogers last year, became an All-Star. But since May 24, Rogers has a 1.53 ERA with an expected ERA of 2.94. Bautista missed all of 2024 due to injury and has gone 1-1 with a career-high 2.41 ERA, a 1.04 WHIP, 18 saves, 48 strikeouts and 20 walks in 33 2/3 innings pitched.

Trevor Rogers Spins Eight Scoreless Innings in First Win

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Trevor Rogers blanked the Texas Rangers over eight innings in his team's 6-0 win on Monday. The former first-round pick scattered three hits -- all singles -- and struck out four to earn his first win in three tries. Rogers was recalled last week and yielded five hits and three earned runs over 2 1/3 innings to a hot Tampa Bay Rays team, but was much better against the lowly Rangers. That's not to take away from the New Mexico native, however, as he boasted an excellent 2.79 xERA and .218 xBA against coming into this start after shutting out the Red Sox over 6 1/3 innings in a spot start (May 24). His next turn in the rotation will likely come against Tampa Bay again later in the week -- this time at home.

Trevor Rogers Called Up and Starting on Wednesday

The Baltimore Orioles announced on Wednesday that they recalled left-hander Trevor Rogers from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned left-hander Grant Wolfram to Norfolk in a corresponding move. Rogers will start Wednesday's game against the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays. The 27-year-old southpaw made one spot start back on May 24 for the O's and threw 6 1/3 shutout innings with no walks and five strikeouts in a no-decision against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park. The Rays are middle of the pack in OPS (.712) on the year and won't be an easy task for Rogers, who had posted a 5.46 ERA and 1.55 WHIP with 26 strikeouts and eight walks in 29 2/3 innings over seven starts for Norfolk. Needless to say, Rogers will be a risky fantasy stream on Wednesday. With Cade Povich (hip) on the injured list, Rogers should make multiple starts in Baltimore's rotation.
