With Justin Bour (oblique) on the 10-day disabled list, the Miami Marlins will start first baseman/outfielder Tyler Moore at first base this evening. White will bat in the No. 7 hole. Last night catcher/first baseman Tomas Telis drew the start, so it will remain to be seen who will get the majority of at-bats with Bour out. For the season Moore has hit .240 with six home runs and 21 RBI.
Tyler Moore Crushing The Ball During Justin Bour's Absence
The Miami Marlins lost one home run-hitting first baseman when Justin Bour went down last week, though they've gotten a new one in Tyler Moore. Moore, who's filled in periodically off the bench this season, crushed two homers and drove in four runs on Friday in a 12-7 Miami win against the Pirates. Moore has been on fire over his last three games, sporting a .583 average with two home runs and six RBI. He remains an enticing waiver wire addition in the short term in NL-only leagues, especially since it's still unknown how long Bour will be out.
Miami Marlins infielder Tyler Moore was the unlikely hero for the Marlins on Sunday after hitting a pinch-hit three-run homer off Atlanta's R.A. Dickey. Moore's pinch-hit dinger was his first of the year and helped the Fish snap a five-game losing streak. Moore is strictly a bench player for Miami, though he could make more appearances given the team's incredible list of injuries. Moore is batting .357 with one homer and four RBI in 14 at-bats.
