Yadiel Rivera Hits First Major League Homer on Saturday
Miami Marlins utility man Yadiel Rivera hit his first major league home run on Sunday off of perennial CY Young candidate Max Scherzer. It was his only hit of the night, but a big one at that. Rivera is hitting just .189 on the season with six RBI, although he has appeared in 76 games. He'll continue to get starts, but even with his home run Rivera isn't a guy who can be trusted in fantasy leagues.
Updating a previous report, Miami Marlins shortstop Yadiel Rivera will indeed be in the lineup on Thursday against the Washington Nationals. He will bat eighth. J.T. Riddle will sit the matchup out. Rivera is having a bad 2018 season and should not be started against Jeremy Hellickson Thursday.
