Rockies Sign Zach Lee To Minor League Deal
The Colorado Rockies signed right-handed pitcher Zach Lee to a minor league deal. The Rockies have also added catchers Jonathan Morales and Carlos Perez and outfielders Tyler Hill and Wynton Bernard to minor league deals since the calendar flipped to February. Lee, a former first-round pick (28th overall) in 2010, was traded from the Los Angeles Dodgers to the Seattle Mariners in 2016 in the deal that sent Chris Taylor to the Dodgers. Lee has only pitched 12 2/3 innings at the major league level and hasn't appeared in a big league game since 2017 with the San Diego Padres. He's still only 30 years old, though, so he will try to win a roster spot out of spring training with the Rockies, assuming there is a spring training this year amid the lockout.
