NBA DFS Picks for Thursday Feb 2nd

NBA DraftKings Picks Today

The Lakers and Pacers currently have the top Over/Under total (240.5), but the Warriors and Nuggets are right behind at 239.5. Today’s slate wraps up in what should be an entertaining matchup between the Clippers and Bucks, with Milwaukee entering as the 4.5-point favorite.

DFS Recap from Tuesday the 31st

The Tuesday article wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. Most players came close to their FantasyData Projections, but only Jalen Brunson exceeded expectations. Overall I would grade Tuesday’s article a C+

Studs DFS Player

Luka Doncic | Dallas Mavericks

FantasyData Projection: 59 | DraftKings Cost: $12300

Even though Doncic comes with a heavy price tag, I like his chances of putting up a big game. Doncic comes into the game as the top projected scorer with an average of 33.4 DFS points per game. However, he will be forced into a bigger role in both scoring and rebounding with Christian Wood out of the lineup. Over his past five games, he has surpassed our fantasy expectations three times.

The last time we featured Luka in an NBA DFS article he got hurt early, so rather than avoid him we’re going to double down and hope for the best.

Paul George | Los Angeles Clippers

FantasyData Projection: 42 | DraftKings Cost: $9000

Paul George comes into the game as a strong three-point shooting option, having hit 38.5% of his three-point shots. George is averaging 23.3 points per game and 42.8 fantasy points per contest. Look for the Clippers to play at a faster pace than usual, as the Bucks are 12th in possessions per game. Given his importance as a rebounder for the Clippers and his usage rate of 29.6%, George should put together a good game vs. Milwaukee.

Donovan Mitchell | Cleveland Cavaliers

FantasyData Projection: 41 | DraftKings Cost: $8100

The Cavaliers will be taking on a Grizzlies unit that loves to push the pace, sitting 5th in possessions per game. At $8100, Mitchell is an excellent value with a projected 41.8 fantasy points, placing him 10th among today’s players. For the season, he has hit 39.1% of his three-point shots and is one of today’s top options in terms of usage, having taken 23.6% of the Cavaliers’ field goal attempts.

DeMar DeRozan | Chicago Bulls

FantasyData Projection: 40 | DraftKings Cost: $8700

DeRozan is sitting 12th in projected fantasy points but could outperform these expectations against the NBA’s 23rd-ranked defense against shooting guards. In addition, the Hornets are one of the worst teams in free throws allowed, meaning DeRozan could rack up some easy points at the line. He is also a solid contributor on the boards, averaging 4.9 rebounds per game.

Value DFS Players

Ivica Zubac | Los Angeles Clippers

FantasyData Projection: 29 | DraftKings Cost: $5300

Not only has Zubac been an efficient scorer this year, but he is also a good candidate to pick up a double-double. Coming into today’s game, he is 3rd best rebounding option at 10.2 rebounds per game and is facing the league’s 16th-ranked defense at defending his position. The Clippers will be taking on a Bucks team ranked 12th in possessions per game; meaning, Zubac should see plenty of opportunities to put up some extra points today.

Tyus Jones | Memphis Grizzlies

FantasyData Projection: 22 | DraftKings Cost: $4400

Over his past three games, Jones’ salary has decreased by 9.7% with an average of $4466. Getting him today at $4400 provides some excellent value. So far this year, the Grizzlies are 5th in possessions per game, and given that Jones has been efficient with his time on the floor (PER 20.2), I expect Jones to surpass expectations.

Pat Connaughton | Milwaukee Bucks

FantasyData Projection: 17 | DraftKings Cost: $5200

Pat Connaughton is coming into today’s game as the 88th-best option in projected fantasy scoring, but I see him being undervalued in his matchup with the Clippers. Milwaukee is one of the faster-paced teams in the NBA, sitting 12th in possessions per contest, and Connaughton has averaged 25.6 fantasy points over his last three games. This increase in production has coincided with him getting some extra looks on offense. Connaughton comes into the game with an effective field goal percentage of 51.8%.

Rui Hachimura | Los Angeles Lakers

FantasyData Projection: 22 | DraftKings Cost: $5100

Rui Hachimura not only will be matched up against an Indiana defense that’s ranked 26th in points allowed per game, but this game should be one of the faster-paced matchups of the day. For the season, the Lakers and Pacers are ranked 2nd and 10th in pace, respectively. For the season, Hachimura averages 10.7 field goal attempts per game, but our projections show him getting more looks against the Pacers.

Super Value Player

Ayo Dosunmu PG | Chicago Bulls

FantasyData Projection: 19.6 | DraftKings Cost: $3800

Dosunmu’s DraftKings price is only $3800, which is perfect if you’re trying to save DraftKings bucks to get Luka in your lineup. Dosunmu plays better at home and has a decent matchup against the Charlotte Hornets. FantasyData’s optimizer has Ayo as the 10th best-valued player on the slate.
