According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Atlanta Hawks released center Bruno Fernando on Tuesday. Fernando had been with the Hawks for just one season, and he will now look to sign with a new team before the start of training camp. The 25-year-old didn't contribute much in last season's first half, but he turned it around after the All-Star break, posting 7.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists across 19.3 minutes in 27 contests. Fantasy managers, if Fernando lands with a new team, don't expect him to carry much fantasy value going into the 2024-2025 regular season.

Hawks Pick Up Player Option On Bruno Fernando
The Atlanta Hawks have decided to pick up the 2023-2024 player option on center Bruno Fernando. The 24-year-old will make a little less than $2.6 million next season. The expectation is that Fernando will fill the role as the third center on the roster. That being said, it's unlikely that he gets much playing time unless something happens to Clint Capela. This appears to be mainly a depth move for Atlanta, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect Fernando to have fantasy value going into the season.

Bruno Fernando Questionable On Thursday With Illness
Houston Rockets center Bruno Fernando (illness) has been tagged as questionable ahead of the team's Thursday night contest against the San Antonio Spurs. The 24-year-old is dealing with a non-COVID illness right now which he must have picked up during the two-day break since their last game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Fernando just started to ramp up his minutes over the last few games, but his productivity hasn't been anything to write home about. He's only worth adding in very deep leagues if fantasy managers are desperate for rebounds and a couple of blocks.

Bruno Fernando Misses Saturday's Contest
Houston Rockets center Bruno Fernando (knee) won't be available for Saturday's game against Milwaukee. The 24-year-old big man left Friday's loss to Memphis early with left knee soreness and it appears that it's still bothering him. All the hype has been around Alperen Sengun, but Fernando has started the season as Houston's starting center and he looked very impressive in the season opener on Wednesday against Atlanta, bagging seven points with nine rebounds, seven assists and two blocks. He had to settle for just four points, four rebounds and two assists in 12 minutes Friday. Sengun saw extended minutes with Fernando unavailable and went off for 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks. He will look to repeat the performance Saturday night.

Bruno Fernando Will Return Sunday, Have Minutes Capped
Atlanta Hawks center Bruno Fernando will be back in the rotation for Sundays contest against the New York Knicks, but will face a restriction of 15 minutes as he works his way back from a calf injury. Fernando had missed five of the Hawks six most recent outings, having lost his spot in the starting five to Damian Jones, while also seeing Clint Capela andDewayne Dedmon brought aboard at the Trade Deadline. Having averaged 12.3 minutes per contest this season, Fernandos minutes restriction shouldnt impede him drastically, but it does mean that owners can look elsewhere for the time being.

Bruno Fernando is Unlikely to Play on Friday
Atlanta Hawks center Bruno Fernando (calf) is listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Boston Celtics. He was limited to only 12 minutes during Wednesday's game, so we'll see if that's the case on Friday. Damian Jones and Dewayne Dedmon would be asked to split up the minutes if Fernando is unable to play. Clint Capela (heel) is going to take away most of Fernando's value once he's ready to play.

Bruno Fernando Goes Through Shootaround Wednesday
Atlanta Hawks center Bruno Fernando (calf) was able to go through shootaround on Wednesday. He's listed as questionable for Wednesday's game, but getting through shootaround is a positive sign. Damian Jones would lose playing time and value if Fernando is back in the rotation. Fernando won't have much fantasy value at all once Clint Capela is active.

De'Andre Hunter, Bruno Fernando Questionable For Wednesday
Atlanta Hawks rookies De'Andre Hunter and Bruno Fernando both have their status up in the air ahead of Wednesdays contest against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Hunter has been absent from the past two contests due to a left ankle injury, while Fernando has missed Atlantas four previous outings due to a left calf ailment. The Hawks have been particularly thin in the frontcourt without both men. With multiple others already ruled out for the contest, Hunter and Fernando could have viable roles should they be cleared to suit up. Check back prior to tip-off to get the final word on their respective statuses.

Bruno Fernando is Doubtful Against Celtics
Atlanta Hawks center Bruno Fernando (calf) is listed as doubtful for Monday's game against the Boston Celtics. Alex Len (hip) has already been ruled out, so the Hawks could be thin on depth for this game. Damian Jones has been more playing time lately and is worth a look in fantasy leagues in the short term.

Bruno Fernando Ruled Out For Saturday’s Contest
Atlanta Hawks center Bruno Fernando has been downgraded to out ahead of Saturdays game versus the Dallas Mavericks due to a left calf ailment. Fernando had been probable to get back into action entering the day, but the injury apparently took a turn for the worse, as he will now miss a third consecutive contest. With Alex Len (hip) also out, Damian Jones will get the start at center and should serve as a solid DFS option. Fernandos next chance to get back onto the floor comes Monday against Boston.
