Buddy Boeheim Signs Exhibit 10 Contract With Pistons
The Detroit Pistons have signed Buddy Boeheim to an Exhibit 10 contract. The 23-year-old shooting guard made his first 10 NBA appearances with the Pistons last season, but the team declined to make a qualifying offer for him in the summer and renounced his rights. However, Boeheim played for the Pistons in the Summer League and will now have a chance to battle for a roster spot again. Boeheim was limited to only 9.0 minutes and 1.6 points per game last season and he didn't make much noise in the summer either, posting 6.0 points in 11.1 minutes across five appearances.
Detroit Pistons guard Buddy Boeheim finished with only five points during the win over the Magic on Saturday in Las Vegas. The 22-year-old struggled, draining just one of his five attempts from downtown. He did have five boards and two assists, but overall, it was a forgettable showing from the Syracuse alum. Nonetheless, after playing relatively well throughout Summer League, Boeheim may get some big club experience this year, considering he's under a two-way deal. However, he's likely a few years away from tapping into his potential, so he probably won't see much fantasy interest in redraft formats heading into October.
The Detroit Pistons and shooting guard Buddy Boeheim have agreed to a two-way deal for the upcoming season, landing the ACC's leading scorer a professional deal. Boeheim averaged 2.9 made three-point baskets per contest over his final three years at Syracuse, having been named First-team All-ACC in his final season. It remains to be seen what role Boeheim will play for Detroit, but he is likely to fluctuate between the team's bench and G League affiliate. In a best-case scenario, he could be utilized as a three-point dependent fantasy asset.
