Cam Thomas Signing With Milwaukee

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, free-agent guard Cam Thomas agreed to a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks. The 2021 No. 27 overall pick has spent his entire career in Brooklyn. While he hasn't had the best year, he's coming off a solid 2024 campaign, at least when he was available, averaging a career-high 24.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists. The Nets weren't looking to keep Thomas beyond this season, so the team ultimately waived him after failing to trade him ahead of the deadline. Without question, the former LSU Tiger is a menace offensively. However, he won't offer much else to fantasy managers outside of his contributions on the scoring end. Thomas has also battled numerous injuries over the years, which has significantly capped his fantasy value. All things considered, Thomas should receive ample playing time immediately, and he will presumably draw some starts if Kevin Porter Jr., Ryan Rollins, or Kyle Kuzma aren't available.

Cam Thomas Will Be Waived by the Nets

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas will be waived after not being traded before Thursday's NBA Trade Deadline, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. Thomas was the Nets' first-round pick in 2021 and has played five seasons in Brooklyn, but he'll now become a free agent. He's a score-first guard who has shown a high ceiling when he's the focus of the offense, but didn't seem to fit in the team's current plans. Thomas averaged 24.0 points, 3.8 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.7 three-pointers in 25 games last season, but this year, he only averaged 15.6 points, 3.1 assists, 1.8 rebounds, and 24.3 minutes in his 24 games. Thomas could be an interesting addition to a team needing volume scoring off the free agent market, and his departure opens more minutes for young players like Drake Powell and Ben Saraf in Brooklyn's rotation.

Cam Thomas Resting on Thursday Night

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (hamstring) won't play on Thursday in Denver. The Nets will then travel to Utah to meet the Jazz on Friday night, so Thomas will presumably be back for that contest. With Noah Clowney (back) and Egor Demin (foot) also out, Michael Porter Jr. should receive even more opportunities to produce versus his former squad. The same can be said for Nicolas Claxton, Day'Ron Sharpe, and Terance Mann (back), assuming he suits up.

Cam Thomas Will Be Available Tuesday in Phoenix

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (ankle) was listed as available to play Tuesday after he was forced to miss Sunday's game against the Clippers with a sprained ankle. The 24-year-old still has a very high ceiling, even though he has been limited to only 20 games by injuries this season and is only averaging 16.2 points per game when available. Thomas was limited to only 19 minutes in his last game on Friday, even though the game went into double overtime. He could be lined up for more work on Tuesday, though, since Tyrese Martin (knee) has been ruled out. Thomas's return could also cut into the workloads of Ziaire Williams and Nolan Traore (illness), who is probable.

Cam Thomas Won't Play on Sunday Against the Clippers

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (ankle) won't play on Sunday against the Clippers. The 24-year-old has already missed plenty of time this season. He's also struggled statistically, averaging 16.2 points, his lowest since his sophomore campaign. Thomas tweaked his ankle during Friday's double-overtime loss to the Boston Celtics, so it's unknown how long he'll be out of commission. However, with the trade deadline on the horizon, fantasy managers are left wondering if he's already played his final game as a Net. At any rate, while Thomas is sidelined, Ziaire Williams and Tyrese Martin may see more action. That could also apply to Nolan Traore (illness), who had a career-high 21 points on Friday, once he shakes off an illness.

Cam Thomas Rejoins Nets Lineup for Meeting With Knicks

Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Cam Thomas (hamstring) will return to the lineup on Wednesday night against the New York Knicks. He sat out the second leg of a back-to-back on Monday versus the Phoenix Suns. Since returning from a hamstring injury in late December, Thomas has struggled for consistency. He is averaging 12.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.6 assists across 23.4 minutes in January. The 24-year-old has finished three of his last four appearances with single-digit points. Still, Thomas impressed with 10 assists in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bulls and can cook up a big line in a hurry if he gets hot.

Cam Thomas Available Wednesday

Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Cam Thomas (hamstring) will be active on Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. The team has removed Thomas from the injury report after he sat out Monday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks to manage his left hamstring injury. Thomas has been limited to 22.8 minutes per game this month, averaging 14.0 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. As a microwave scorer, Thomas has a very attractive fantasy matchup on Wednesday, as New Orleans owns the fourth-worst defensive rating in the league.

Cam Thomas Won't Play Monday

Brooklyn Nets guard/forward Cam Thomas (hamstring) won't be in the lineup on Monday against the Dallas Mavericks. The Nets are wrapping up a back-to-back, and Thomas will sit out to manage a left hamstring injury. Thomas missed nearly two months because of the injury, and the team is being cautious with him. Drake Powell and Tyese Martin could see more playing time on Monday night, especially with Egor Demin (foot) also missing from the backcourt.

Cam Thomas Resting on Friday

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (rest) won't be available for the upcoming game against the Washington Wizards on Friday. This is the second leg of a back-to-back set, so Thomas will head to the bench for rest purposes. This is bad timing for the Nets with Michael Porter Jr. (illness) and Nicolas Claxton (personal) also ruled out on Friday. When healthy, Thomas has been productive, so fantasy managers should hold him through injury maintenance days. Ziaire Williams could be asked to play heavy minutes with Terance Mann (hip) questionable for this game. Williams finished with 14 points, two rebounds, and five steals across 27 minutes on Thursday. He brings enough to the table to warrant streaming while the Nets are banged up.

Cam Thomas Cleared to Return on Saturday Night

Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas (hamstring) will play on Saturday against Minnesota. He hasn't been on the floor in nearly two months, so he'll presumably see fewer than the 28.3 minutes he averaged before suffering the hamstring strain. However, despite the chance of a reduced workload, Thomas is a must-start in all fantasy setups. It's unknown how his presence will impact others, although his return could severely decrease the statistical contributions of Michael Porter Jr., who has averaged a career-high 25.7 points.
