Los Angeles Lakers forward Carmelo Anthony led the team with 28 points in 28 minutes off the bench in Sunday's 121-118 victory over Memphis, moving into ninth place on the league's all-time scoring list. Melo got to 27,423 career points, leaving Moses Malone (27,409) behind him. He sunk six of eight attempts from deep and shot 10-for-15 overall from the field, adding three rebounds to his tally with one assist, one steal and two blocks. The veteran scorer had combined for only 27 points in his first two appearances as a Laker. Nights like these have become very rare for Anthony, but he can still get buckets in a hurry and will look to maintain his scoring form on Tuesday against the Spurs.
Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony (ankle) won't play against the Rockets. The veteran missed the team's last outing against the San Antonio Spurs, which opened the door for Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to get some extra work. Hollis-Jefferson isn't a reliable fantasy option in normal circumstances. However, he may get some additional minutes and chances on the offensive end if Monday's contest against Houston turns into a blowout, which is very possible.
Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony (ankle) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. The veteran forward is dealing with a minor ankle issue and will sit this one out as a precaution. Derrick Jones Jr. is expected to gain the most playing time from the absence of Anthony. However, Jones has not been a consistent contributor, so it's tough to trust him in most formats.
Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony turned back the time on Sunday, finishing as the team's leading scorer in a 109-101 loss to Charlotte. He notched 24 points in 28 minutes on 8-for-19 shooting off the bench. C.J. McCollum led the starters with 22 points. Melo was 6-for-12 with the three-ball and added three rebounds to his line with two assists and one steal. Anthony has two 20-point efforts in his past three games. He is currently getting more minutes -- and more shots, of course -- with Damian Lillard (hamstring) on the shelf. The veteran forward will try to keep his good scoring form going against the Clippers on Tuesday.
