Houston Rockets point guard D.J. Augustin (health and safety protocols) has been deemed unavailable for Monday's game against Oklahoma City. Augustin has been sparsely utilized off the bench for the Rockets, who have prioritized development during the early portion of what has been a trying season. With Augustin joining Jalen Green (hamstring) on the sidelines, Kevin Porter Jr. stands to see an even more sizable role as the team's court general, upping his DFS intrigue. Having scored in double figures just once this season, Augustin can remain on the waiver wire in all season-long formats. His next chance to return to action comes Wednesday in a rematch vs. the Thunder.
Houston Rockets guard D.J. Augustin (ankle) is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers. It wouldn't be surprising to see the Rockets rest the veteran guard here. They aren't playing for much, so they have no incentive to play their veterans throughout the rest of the season. Kevin Porter Jr. has looked fantastic lately and the absence of Augustin would only boost his playing time.
Power forward/center D.J. Wilson and point guard D.J. Augustin have been traded to the Houston Rockets in a four-player swap that was completed Wednesday. Wilson is the more tantalizing of the two due to his age (25) and athleticism for a team that is lacking current frontcourt depth. Augustin appeared in 37 games (six starts) with Milwaukee this season and averaged 6.1 points and 3.0 assists per contest. While he could stick with Houston as they sort out injuries to their backcourt, he stands out as a possible buyout candidate. The Rockets also acquired Milwaukee's 2023 unprotected first-round Draft selection in the deal.
Milwaukee Bucks guard D.J. Augustin will start Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Bucks are on a five-game losing streak and need to make some changes while Jrue Holiday (health and safety protocols) is still out. Augustin will push Bryn Forbes to the bench who was serviceable as a three-pointer streamer. Augustin could be worth a look with two games left this week and would be a low-end option for assists.
Milwaukee Bucks guard D.J. Augustin (calf) has been upgraded to probable for Friday's contest versus the Golden State Warriors. He was held out of the season opener on Wednesday, but has been practicing over the last few days. It sounds like Augustin is healthy enough to suit up for this game. That means, Bryn Forbes is expected to take a significant hit, assuming Augustin is back on the court.
D.J. Augustin Unlikely To Make Team Debut Wednesday
Milwaukee Bucks point guard D.J. Augustin (calf) has been tagged as doubtful to suit up for Wednesday's season opener against Boston. Augustin was brought aboard to backup Jrue Holiday, but the role will likely shift to Donte Divincenzo should Augustin not be cleared in time. Whereas the veteran had some DFS upside last year as a member of the Magic, he isn't expected to reprise large enough of a role throughout the season to merit single-game or season-long rostership in anything but the deepest of formats. Barring a late change of fortunes, Augustin's best chance of making his Milwaukee debut comes Christmas Day versus the Warriors.
D.J. Augustin Scores Team-High 24 Points Off The Bench
Orlando Magic guard D.J. Augustin was pivotal to his team picking up a win versus the Rockets on Sunday. In 27 minutes off the bench, he scored 24 points on 7-for-10 shooting from the field, 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and he converted on all six of his free-throw attempts. Augustin also chipped in two rebounds, three assists and one steal in the 126-106 victory for Orlando. The win marked the second in a row for the Magic after being on a three-game losing streak earlier in the week. Augustin enjoyed his second consecutive excellent performance, as he scored 18 points against Minnesota on Friday.
Orlando Magic guard D.J. Augustin (knee) will be available for Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. Augustin has been sidelined since the middle of January and missed 15 straight games. He should be eased back into action, so he won't be much of a fantasy option right now. Michael Carter-Williams will see less minutes and his usage decreased with Augustin back in the mix. Markelle Fultz shouldn't lose much value from the return of Augustin.
Orlando Magic guard D.J. Augustin (knee) was a full participant during Wednesday's practice. He has not played in a game since January 13 due to a left knee issue. There is a chance that Augustin is ready to play in time for Friday's game against the Dallas Mavericks. Michael Carter-Williams would lose playing time and most of his streaming appeal. Markelle Fultz could lose some minutes as well, but it shouldn't do much to his fantasy value. Augustin is worth looking at in most deep leagues going forward.
Orlando Magic guard D.J. Augustin (knee) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. Augustin had an MRI taken of his knee on Wednesday, but the results haven't been revealed yet. Markelle Fultz will continue to see increased value and minutes with the Magic banged up. He's looking like a solid DFS choice for Thursday's slate.
