Orlando Magic forward D.J. Wilson has been waived by the team after two preseason games in favor of the Exhibit 10 deal that they gave to Miye Oni. Wilson was unable to score in their two preseason contests but averaged 1.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists while playing 6.0 minutes per game. The former first-round pick hasn't seen any NBA action since the 2021-22 season with the Toronto Raptors when he appeared in four games. Last season, with the Oklahoma City Blue, he averaged 19.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game. So, he might be able to latch on to another team's G League affiliate.
D.J. Wilson Racks Up 22 Points, Nine Boards On Wednesday
Toronto Raptors forward D.J. Wilson helped lead the team to an 80-74 victory over the Utah Jazz in Wednesday's Summer League contest. He scored a game-high 22 points while also compiling nine rebounds, three three-pointers, one assist, one block and one steal. He was extremely efficient in the game, shooting 7-for-12 from the field and 5-for-5 from the free throw line. Wilson signed a two-year deal with the Raptors this offseason. The 26-year-old has bounced around the league a bit the past few years as he's struggled to find consistency in the NBA. We'll see if he can carve out a bench role with the Raptors this season.
Toronto Raptors forward D.J. Wilson finished with 10 points during the loss to Chicago on Tuesday night in Las Vegas. He added five boards and two assists, although he also had a game-high six turnovers. Wilson recently signed a multi-year deal after suiting up on numerous 10-day contracts for Toronto in 2021-22. However, despite years of experience, the 2017 first-round pick has a long way to go before earning a routine spot in the rotation moving ahead. Yet, if there are injuries in the Raptors' frontcourt this season, he may make a few appearances in the starting lineup, so there is streaming potential.
Power forward/center D.J. Wilson and point guard D.J. Augustin have been traded to the Houston Rockets in a four-player swap that was completed Wednesday. Wilson is the more tantalizing of the two due to his age (25) and athleticism for a team that is lacking current frontcourt depth. Augustin appeared in 37 games (six starts) with Milwaukee this season and averaged 6.1 points and 3.0 assists per contest. While he could stick with Houston as they sort out injuries to their backcourt, he stands out as a possible buyout candidate. The Rockets also acquired Milwaukee's 2023 unprotected first-round Draft selection in the deal.
Milwaukee Bucks power forward D.J. Wilson had a decent showing Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks. Wilson scored 10 points, going 3-for-4 from the field with seven boards. Recently, Wilson has increased his production, averaging 8.6 points and 6.7 rebounds in the last three contests. The Bucks and Wilson next take on the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. With Wilson being mostly a bench role player and the Bucks having home-court clinched, expect Wilson to get plenty of opportunities to produce for DFS players on Wednesday.
Milwaukee Bucks power forward D.J. Wilson has been cleared for action Friday against the Washington Wizards. Wilson is averaging just 17.7 minutes per game this year, but with Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined, Wilson, who is battling a hip injury, could be worth the play in DFS at his low price. Wilson has missed the previous two games in his own right, and was initially listed as doubtful for Friday, but clearly feels well enough to give it a go.
Milwaukee Bucks forward D.J. Wilson (hip) has been upgraded to questionable for Friday's game against the Washington Wizards. He missed the last two games and was originally listed as doubtful for Friday. Normally, Wilson's status wouldn't matter for fantasy basketball, but Giannis Antetokounmpo (quad/hip) is doubtful for Friday. Wilson could see extra minutes on the court if he's healthy enough to play.
