The Spurs then waived McDaniels to maintain flexibility with their roster and cap space down the road. This move helped the Spurs gain some more draft capital and also allowed the Kings to navigate through some salary and luxury tax hoops after acquiring DeMar DeRozan. McDaniels will now look to latch on to another roster before the regular season kicks off.
