Orlando Magic point guard Jerian Grant dished out a team-high eight assists in 28 minutes against the New York Knicks on Sunday. Grant connected on 3-for-6 shooting, all of which were from beyond the arc to score nine points while adding two rebounds with a steal on the night. Grant is averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 assists with a steal on great shooting over his last two games making him worth a cheap flier pick on Monday against the Wizards.
Orlando Magic guard Jerian Grant had been unspectacular before Monday's preseason game against Miami before impressing with a very good bench outing. He scored 17 points in 23 minutes on 5-for-8 shooting, missing just one of his three attempts from deep and staying perfect from the line with five shots. The only downside was the fact that Grant didn't do much else, adding just one rebound and one assist to his tally. Grant looks set to start the season as a backup, but he showed some good potential last season in Chicago and there's a decent chance he'll pump D.J. Augustin to the bench as the year progresses.
Jerian Grant Scores 15 Off The Bench Versus Celtics
Chicago Bulls point guard Jerian Grant scored 15 points with eight assists and five steals in a loss to the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden. With Zach Lavine, Denzel Valentine, Noah Vonleh and Kris Dunn all out for this game, Grant got extended run off the bench and those steals will certainly make the owners who have him pleased. Remember, he was hot at the start of the season when Lavine was recovering from his knee injury, and it seems that with limited options on this Bulls team, Grant would be the add for the late stretch run.
Chicago Bulls guard Jerian Grant played well in the 105-101 win over the visiting Orlando Magic. Grant started off hot, but cooled off as the game progressed, finishing the night with 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field in addition to dishing out seven assists and pulling down six boards. Grant has played well since filling in for guard Kris Dunn (concussion), but his production will likely take a hit when he returns to the bench once Dunn makes his return, which could be as early as Wednesday. Nonetheless, Grant still has value and should continue to see a healthy amount of minutes, especially with guard/forward Justin Holiday handling duties at the three spot as of late. He will have a tough matchup ahead, as the team will host the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday night and will likely be matched up with guard Kyle Lowry, who is sporting a defensive rating of 103.6 this season.
Jerian Grant Explodes While Filling in for Kris Dunn
Chicago Bulls guard Jerian Grant played well on Monday in the loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Filling in for guard Kris Dunn (concussion), Grant played 47 productive minutes, finishing the night with 22 points in addition to showcasing his generosity by dishing out 13 assists. With Dunn expected to be out at least one more game, Grant should continue to see a healthy amount of minutes until he returns, especially since guard Zach LaVine is still on a minutes restriction. If you are in need of a guard, Grant is your guy, at least for the next game or so.
Chicago Bulls guard Jerian Grant has lost his starting spot in the rotation. Grant was benched on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Lakers after scoring just five points with three assists in 16 minutes. He's only put together a handful of solid performances this season, and the organization decided it was time for a change. They will now roll with Kris Dunn as starting point guard. Anyone holding onto Grant can drop him. He's not even worth keeping in deeper leagues.
Chicago Bulls guard Jerian Grant will remain in the starting lineup for now. On Saturday, Grant went an awful 0-for-7 from the floor including 0-for-6 on triples. He finished with just two points, two rebounds, and four assists in Saturday's loss to the Thunder. Despite that, he will remain as the starter and guard Kris Dunn will be the backup. Dunn recently returned from injury, but could begin to take minutes away from Grant. As of right now Grant will likely continue to see around 25-30 minutes a night until further notice.
