Jericho Sims Injures Ankle Wednesday

New York Knicks center Jericho Sims played only a couple of minutes on Wednesday against Washington because of an ankle injury. The 25-year-old exited the action without registering any stats. With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) sidelined, Sims has an opportunity to carve out a role in the rotation for the beginning of the season. But he will need to stay on the court to make an impression, and unfortunately, that wasn't the case on Wednesday. New York is now off until Sunday, giving Sims some rest time, but it might not be enough, depending on the severity of the injury.

Jericho Sims Has Contract Fully Guaranteed

New York Knicks forward/center Jericho Sims had his $2.1 million contract for the 2024-25 campaign fully guaranteed by the team. The 25-year-old has appeared in 138 regular-season games for New York since he was taken as the No. 58 overall pick in 2021. However, he has struggled to find a spot in the rotation and has averaged just 2.6 points and 3.3 rebounds. With Mitchell Robinson (ankle) potentially missing time to begin the year, Sims could get minutes. Yet, there's a chance Julius Randle (shoulder) and Precious Achiuwa split time underneath the rim while Mitchell recovers, meaning Sims could remain the odd man out.

Jericho Sims Probable Versus Houston

New York Knicks center Jericho Sims (illness) is expected to play on Monday against Houston. Under normal circumstances, Sims' availability won't mean much to fantasy managers. However, there's a chance he could start if Isaiah Hartenstein (Achilles) misses another game. But even if Sims gets more action versus the Rockets, his impact on the fantasy end should be minimal, considering Taj Gibson is anticipated to remain a part of the rotation as well.

Jericho Sims Using A Walking Boot After Spraining Ankle

New York Knicks center Jericho Sims sprained his right ankle against the Lakers on Monday, exiting the action after logging just three minutes. Sims made a fifth consecutive start as Mitchell Robinson's (ankle) replacement. The 25-year-old was seen using a walking boot after exiting Monday's game, which isn't a great sign regarding his availability for the upcoming action. Isaiah Hartenstein is the next big in line to start in New York. He's actually already played starters' minutes since Robinson's exit from the lineup. On Monday, Hartenstein logged 39 minutes and posted a new career high with 17 rebounds. He also had multiple blocks in a fourth consecutive game while contributing nine points offensively.

Jericho Sims Expected To Be Ready For Training Camp

New York Knicks center Jericho Sims (shoulder) underwent successful surgery on his right shoulder. The big man is expected to be ready for training camp next season. Sims has been sidelined since the first week in April due to injury. It appears his season is over, but his absence won't make a huge impact in the rotation. Mitchell Robinson and Isaiah Hartenstein might see a few extra minutes. Sims averaged 3.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in 52 games this season. He likely won't be a fantasy option heading into next season.

Jericho Sims Will Not Suit Up For Game 3

New York Knicks center Jericho Sims (shoulder) has officially been ruled out of Game 3 against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. The young center has yet to see the floor in this series and he most likely wouldn't get any minutes unless either Mitchell Robinson or Isaiah Hartenstein gets hurt. He should not be on any DFS radars whether healthy or not at this moment.

Jericho Sims Lands New Deal With The Knicks

New York Knicks center Jericho Sims agreed to a three-year deal to remain with the team. The 23-year-old averaged 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 points throughout 41 appearances as a rookie last season. While his numbers weren't the best, the organization appears to have some confidence in his long-term development. Still, with Mitchell Robinson and Isaiah Hartenstein above him on the depth chart, he's unlikely to improve much from a statistical standpoint. However, if Robinson or Hartenstein get sidelined, Sims could receive a slight bump in production, although likely not enough to make a difference for fantasy managers.

Jericho Sims Earns Three-Year Deal With Knicks

New York Knicks center Jericho Sims has been given a three-year contract to remain with the organization, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. Sims was a second-round Draft choice by New York last season, before having appeared in 41 games (five starts). The 23-year-old shot an impressive 72.2 percent from the field in limited minutes, but he made enough of an impression for the Knicks to convert him to a full-time member of their roster. He faces an uphill battle to fantasy relevant playing time with Mitchell Robinson and Isaiah Hartenstein ahead of him on the depth chart, but Sims will be an appealing DFS option when absences limit the New York frontcourt.

Jericho Sims Draws Third Career Start Wednesday

New York Knicks power forward/center Jericho Sims has been elevated into the starting five for Wednesday's contest against Brooklyn due to Mitchell Robinson's (illness) absence. In two prior starts this year, Sims has averaged eight points and five rebounds, but he will undoubtedly have an elevated role with the Knicks' frontcourt thinned out. Additionally, Sims figures to have ample rebounding opportunities with the Nets rolling out Andre Drummond, one of the few remaining back-to-the-basket centers in the league. For now, Sims can be seen primarily as a DFS option in cash contests due to his limited upside.

Jericho Sims To Make His First Start Wednesday

New York Knicks rookie power forward Jericho Sims will make the first start of his NBA career on Wednesday when the team faces the Charlotte Hornets. Sims will be joined in the starting five by Obi Toppin, Evan Fournier, RJ Barrett and Alec Burks. The team's usual starting big men, Julius Randle (quad) and Mitchell Robinson (back), are out for the game. The 23-year-old Sims has done some good rebounding in limited minutes this month. He's played 14.7 minutes per game in March and he's averaged 5.3 boards per contest. He could be line for a big rebounding night on Wednesday, but he may not provide too many other stats along with those boards.
