Johnathan Motley, Amir Coffey Sitting Out Of Restart
Los Angeles Clippers center Johnathan Motley and forward Amir Coffey will not join the organization for the NBA restart in Orlando. Motley has seen minimal playing time this season and would've been the fourth center on the depth chart behind Joakim Noah. Coffey was getting spotty playing time whenever Kawhi Leonard would sit out. He wasn't likely going to see significant playing time with the Clippers basically fully healthy. The Clippers rotation should stay pretty much the same since Motley and Coffey weren't regular contributors.
Dallas Mavericks forward/center Johnathan Motley had a memorable game on Friday night. Motley scored 26 points in the 113-106 loss to the Pistons, shooting 11-for-19 from the field in 40 minutes of action. He also pulled down 12 boards and snagged two steals. The undrafted rookie has enjoyed an extended run over the past two games, playing a total of 81 minutes in addition to averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds during that span. With the team evaluating its younger talent, expect Motley to continue to see a heavy dose of minutes over the team's last two games and will likely be a popular value-play on Sunday when the Mavs visit the 76ers.
Johnathan Motley Puts Up Good Numbers Against Orlando
Dallas Mavericks power forward Johnathan Motley played 41 minutes against the Magic after having been a healthy scratch for the last three games. With Dallas dealing with a combination of injuries and tanking aspirations, Motley was given the start at center and scored 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting. He grabbed eight rebounds. Dallas continues their road trip on Friday against the Pistons, who were eliminated from playoff contention on Wednesday. The combination of Dallas resting players and the Pistons having nothing to play for could lead to another decent outing by Motley.
