Juancho Hernangomez News
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Juan Hernangomez (shoulder) suffered an injury while training with the Spanish national team on Thursday. At first glance, the Wolves thought it was a minor injury, but sadly they were wrong. It was announced that Hernangomez suffered a grade 4/5 left shoulder dislocation. An injury that often times requires surgery that sidelines a player roughly six months. There is a good chance that Hernangomez misses the beginning of the NBA season, assuming he decides to have surgery. This won't change much in fantasy drafts since Hernangomez averaged 7.2 points last season. The hope is that Hernangomez can beat his timetable and won't miss much of the 2021-2022 season.
Minnesota Timberwolves small/power forward Juan Hernangomez (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest versus Orlando due to swelling in his knee. The nature of the injury certainly doesn't portend to a brief absence, which comes at a difficult time after Hernangomez had reeled off double-digit shot attempts in each of his last three games. Jake Layman and Jarred Vanderbilt stand to see an uptick in minutes without Hernangomez in the mix, but how his shots will be distributed remains less clear. His next opportunity to take the floor comes Tuesday against the Pistons.
Minnesota Timberwolves forward Juan Hernangomez is unlikely to play in Wednesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. Head coach Ryan Saunders mentioned he doubts Hernangomez would play after sitting out on Monday. It seems that Hernangomez has fallen out of the rotation in Minnesota. It wouldn't be shocking if the team decides to trade him soon. Jarred Vanderbilt has picked up his minutes and played well over the last few weeks. He should be on the fantasy radar in deep leagues going forward.
Minnesota Timberwolves power forward Juan Hernangomez has been deemed questionable to play in Wednesday's contest versus the Spurs as he gets back into game shape after passing the league's health and safety protocols. Hernangomez has missed Minnesota's past nine games, having started each of the last six outings that he appeared in, averaging 10 points and seven rebounds on a nightly basis in that span. It's unclear what role Hernangomez could have upon his return, but Jarred Vanderbilt would stand to see decreased fantasy appeal whenever Hernangomez is officially back in the mix.
