Golden State Warriors guard Ky Bowman (ankle) suffered a significant injury and is going to be sidelined for an extended time, according to head coach Steve Kerr. He injured his ankle during Thursday's game and won't travel with the team. He'll get an MRI on his ankle on Friday, so more information should be known soon. Stephen Curry (head) is almost ready to play, so Bowman is better left on the waiver wire in most formats going forward.
With D'Angelo Russell joining the myriad of Golden State Warriors in street clothes due to injury Saturday, Ky Bowman was forced to rack up 39 minutes at the point guard spot. In that span, he had the best showing of his short NBA stint, compiling 16 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals. He has enormous shoes to fill with Stephen Curry sidelined for the foreseeable future, although the return of Russell should allow Bowman to come along at a slower pace than Saturday. Irrespective of that, his outing versus Charlotte proved that the former Boston College product will have value on nights when the Warriors are short-handed. Should Russell also miss Mondays game versus Portland, Bowman becomes a must-roster in the DFS market and can be considered a short-term traditional fantasy option.
