Montrezl Harrell News
Los Angeles Lakers power forward/center Montrezl Harrell was tossed from Tuesday's game versus Toronto after getting involved in a scuffle between teammate Dennis Schroder and forward OG Anunoby. Harrell initially came to the defense of Schroder, who was dumped to the ground by Anunoby while the two attempted to hold one another up; Harrell's shove to Anunoby led to multiple parties spilling onto the floor to separate the players involved. Harrell played just two minutes prior to his ejection, failing to log a notable contribution to the stat sheet. Even without him, L.A. was able to get out to a comfortable first-half lead Tuesday. Harrell should be plenty rested for Wednesday's outing when the Lakers take on the Pelicans.
Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Montrezl Harrell provided a team-high 19 points in Sunday's 104-86 loss to the Clippers, shooting 7-for-12 from the field and 5-for-6 at the foul line. He grabbed six rebounds and recorded two assists and two blocks. Marc Gasol led the starters with 11 points. The Lakers are having a very difficult time right now due to injuries as they struggle to stay competitive on a regular basis. Harrell is benefiting from the injuries, but he also has a tough time pleasing fantasy managers if every other game turns into a blowout and he doesn't log a lot of minutes. The defending champs go up against fellow strugglers the Raptors next on Tuesday, which should be a close game.
Los Angeles Lakers center Montrezl Harrell kept rolling in Friday's win over the Cavaliers. Harrell scored a game-high 24 points on efficient 10 of 15 shooting from the field, adding 10 boards for his fifth double-double of the month. He chipped in two assists and two steals in 30 minutes of action. With their two best players sidelined, Harrell has been a constant for the Lakers lately, with averages of 21.6 points and 9.0 rebounds per game on 67.1 percent shooting from the field over his last five games. Sunday brings a favorable matchup against the Magic. Normally a tough frontcourt to take on, the center position is now in-flux for Orlando with the departure of Nikola Vucevic, presenting Harrell with the opportunity for another good outing.
Los Angeles Lakers forward/center Montrezl Harrell recorded a team-high 23 points in Saturday's loss to Atlanta, with LeBron James making an early exit with an ankle injury. Harrell also grabbed 11 rebounds for his fifth double-double of the season, adding one assist and one block on 10-for-13 shooting. With Anthony Davis (calf) already out for an extended period, Harrell could end up carrying a big load offensively if LeBron is forced to miss time. Dennis Schroder, who had 18 points against his former team on Saturday, and Kyle Kuzma will get more scoring responsibilities as well. The Lakers will be back on the court on Sunday against Phoenix.
