Patty Mills Traded To The Clippers

According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Clippers acquired guard Patty Mills and center Drew Eubanks from the Jazz. In exchange, Utah will receive forward P.J. Tucker and center Mo Bamba. The 36-year-old is nowhere near the level of player that he was during his days in San Antonio, averaging only 4.4 points in 17 games with the Jazz this season. It's unknown how much work he'll receive in Los Angeles, assuming he remains on the roster. If anything, Mills will at least add another veteran voice to a team looking to make a deep postseason run. With that said, unless Mills gets routine action, which isn't likely to happen, he won't be featured in many fantasy lineups moving forward.

Patty Mills Signing With Utah

Free-agent guard Patty Mills agreed to a one-year, $3.3 million contract with the Jazz. The 36-year-old started last season with the Hawks but was waived. He eventually signed with the Heat, playing in 13 regular season contests and averaging 5.8 points and 1.5 assists. The Jazz have a young backcourt featuring Keyonte George, Isaiah Collier, and Collin Sexton, so it will be difficult for anyone to get minutes. But Mills will provide invaluable leadership and guidance to a team in rebuilding mode. However, his days as a reliable fantasy option have been over for years.

Patty Mills Hopes To Continue Career

Miami Heat point guard Patty Mills wants to continue his playing career. Mills will turn 36 in August but is eager to remain in the NBA after splitting the 2023-24 campaign between Atlanta and Miami. "I take really good care of myself and my body and the plan is to continue to play until the wheels fall off is how I see it," Mills told Ira Winderman of The South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Mills, who won the NBA championship with San Antonio in 2014, has mostly been used as a veteran presence on teams in recent seasons. He was limited to 13.0 minutes and 4.0 points in 32 appearances in 2023-24.

Patty Mills Waived By Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks have waived veteran guard Patty Mills. The 35-year-old leaves the team after averaging just 10.6 minutes of action across 19 games in 2023-24. The team made the move to covert Trent Forrest's two-way contract into a standard deal. Forrest, who's playing his fourth year in the league, has had a similar role to Mills, featuring in 20 games and averaging 10.5 minutes, but he's a much younger player and could offer a lot more to the team going forward. However, Forrest has yet to make an impact in the NBA, with his career averages standing at 2.8 points and 1.7 assists.

Patty Mills On The Move Again

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, OKC traded guard Patty Mills to Atlanta on Saturday. In exchange, the Thunder will receive Rudy Gay, Usman Garuba, TyTy Washington Jr., and a second-round pick. Mills, who has been traded three times in the last 10 days, averaged 6.2 points in 40 games with the Nets last season. However, the 34-year-old may not remain in Atlanta, considering he's on an attractive $6.8 million expiring contract. At any rate, Mills' role will be contingent on where he eventually ends up. While he may get some chances to produce in 2023-24, he likely won't be a consistent fantasy contributor.

Patty Mills Not Expected To Remain In Houston

Newly acquired Patty Mills is expected to quickly move on from Houston, with the Rockets looking to use him in a sign-and-trade deal for Dillon Brooks. Mills was picked up Saturday from the Brooklyn Nets, where he played very sparingly last season, averaging 6.2 points in 14.2 minutes while logging only 40 appearances. He'll provide veteran presence and three-point shooting wherever he eventually lands, but the days of Mills being a fantasy asset appear to be behind us.

Patty Mills Posts Vintage Performance Against Milwaukee

Brooklyn Nets guard Patty Mills turned back the clock a little bit on Thursday night despite the five-point loss to the Eastern Conference-leading Milwaukee Bucks. The 34-year-old Aussie posted 21 points, seven rebounds, four assists, one steal, and one block on 8-for-16 shooting while adding five made threes. This was the second-highest minutes he received in a game this season and delivered his second-highest point total to go along with it. He's still hard to trust in any fantasy format for the playoffs unless the Nets decide to go full tank mode at some point.

Patty Mills Will Miss Friday’s Contest

Brooklyn Nets point guard Patty Mills (illness) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Raptors due to a non-COVID illness. Mills has been sparingly used off the bench this season with Edmond Sumner and Seth Curry largely vaulting him on the depth chart; the veteran has averaged just 5.5 PPG, his lowest scoring output in a decade. Without Mills in the mix, Sumner and Cam Thomas could see some added backcourt run. The next chance for the 34-year-old to return comes Sunday vs. Detroit.

Patty Mills Declines Player Option

Brooklyn Nets guard Patty Mills has decided to decline his player option and enter free agency. Last season, Mills averaged 2.8 three-pointers while playing nearly 29 minutes per game. He could draw plenty of interest in free agency, but is unlikely to find a starting spot anywhere. Mills is really only useful for his ability from beyond the arc, but can still be a decent contributor off the bench. Honestly, his fantasy value should be about the same on any team he lands.

Patty Mills Undecided About Future In Brooklyn

Upcoming free-agent guard Patty Mills remains undecided about his future in Brooklyn. He has a player option, which if exercised, would pay him $6.2 million in 2022-23. However, it appears his decision may be based on the future of Kyrie Irving, who reportedly caused moral issues in the locker room after refusing to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. While Mills wasn't a consistent fantasy presence, he averaged 13.1 points and shot 37.5% from behind the arc throughout 48 appearances in the starting lineup, so it seems the 33-year-old still has plenty of gas left in the tank. Nonetheless, it's hard to tell how impactful the veteran will be for fantasy managers this season, primarily since it's not known where he'll be playing. But there is still upside for those in deep formats, no matter where he ends up moving forward.
