P.J. Tucker News
Miami Heat forward P.J. Tucker is expected to get a fully-guaranteed three-year deal from the organization. The Heat aren't allowed to offer more than three years, but that's likely what Tucker would get in free agency. The deal would be worth $27 million, which is probably around what he would get in free agency. The veteran forward is likely to take less money in order to stay in Miami. Tucker is a great locker room presence and an above average defender. He'd draw interest from multiple contenders, assuming he enters free agency.
Miami Heat forward P.J. Tucker will decline his $7.4 million player option and become a free agent. The 37-year-old has averaged 7.1 points, 5.6 boards, and 1.1 steals throughout his career. With numbers like that, Tucker hasn't been known as the most impactful fantasy option on the planet. However, he can get hot every now and then, especially if given more opportunities on both ends of the floor. The veteran should garner plenty of attention over the summer due to his tenacity, durability, and leadership, so it shouldn't take long before he finds a new home while getting paid in the process. Still, he probably won't get much fantasy consideration wherever he signs, although he may get his time to shine as a streaming option during the 2022-23 season.
Miami Heat forward P.J. Tucker has a player option for next season and could return to the organization. General manager Pat Riley said that he would love to have Tucker on the roster next season. The 37-year-old averaged 7.6 points per game and was a reliable member of the defense through 71 games with the Heat. Clearly, the Heat believe Tucker is an important part of the team. It remains to be seen if Tucker will accept his player option or decide to test out free agency.
Miami Heat forward P.J. Tucker (knee) is questionable for Sunday's playoff bout against the Celtics. Tucker has continuously battled a left knee ailment over the last week or so. However, as expected, the veteran has been out there. He had 11 points, five rebounds, and two steals in Game 6. With the limited number of value options for DFS managers ahead of the series finale, Tucker remains one of the better ones available.
