Milwaukee Bucks forwards Rodney Hood and Semi Ojeleye have been traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. This is part of a four-team trade that also sent veteran center Serge Ibaka to Milwaukee. The Clippers don't gain too much from this deal, but open up more playing time for Isaiah Hartenstein. Ojeleye is a defensive minded player who should find his way into the rotation. Although, it's unlikely he does enough to warrant rostering in standard leagues. Hood is a decent shooter, but the Clippers have plenty of depth on the wings. There's a good chance he doesn't crack the rotation or has a minimal role on the team.
Bobby Portis, Semi Ojeleye Will Miss Saturday’s Contest
Milwaukee Bucks power forward/center Bobby Portis (hamstring) and power forward Semi Ojeleye (calf) have been ruled out for Saturday's game against San Antonio. The duo have yet to appear during the regular season for Milwaukee, as Jordan Nwora has been the primary beneficiary of added playing time. The absences of Porter and Ojeleye are particularly problematic when coupled with Brook Lopez (back) sidelined as well, which opens the door for Sandro Mamukelashvili. Portis holds more season-long fantasy relevance of the duo, but the next shot that either will have to return to action comes Monday vs. the Pacers.
Bobby Portis, Semi Ojeleye Will Miss Thursday’s Game
Milwaukee Bucks power forward/center Bobby Portis (hamstring) and power forward Semi Ojeleye (calf) have been deemed unavailable for Thursday's contest against the Heat. The duo missed Tuesday's season opener, which allowed Pat Connaughton to log 30 minutes off the bench and Jordan Nwora to get 26 -- both figure to see similar usage Thursday without two key frontcourt cogs in the mix. When healthy, Portis is a borderline season-long fantasy asset due to his volume and newfound efficiency; he shot a career-high 52.3 percent from the field last season, adding 7.1 boards per contest. The next chance that Portis or Ojeleye will have to take the court comes Saturday vs. the Spurs.
Boston Celtics small/power forward Semi Ojeleye (side) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Thunder due to a strained left side, marking his second consecutive absence. Primarily a depth piece for Boston, Ojeleye's absence is unlikely to lead to an increased offensive role for any one member of the team's roster, although Grant Williams did log 31 minutes as a reserve during Friday's contest. Having averaged just 17 minutes and 4.5 PPG when coming off of the bench this year, Ojeleye is an avoidable fantasy commodity in all formats barring the occasional start. His next chance to suit up comes Monday versus New Orleans.
Boston Celtics small/power forward Semi Ojeleye will rejoin the starting lineup for Monday's contest against Memphis with Jayson Tatum (illness) out of the mix. Even though he finds himself back among the starting five, Ojeleye has scored in double figures just once in his last 28 games, a deterrent to those eyeing his DFS upside. With Marcus Smart having his minutes restriction lifted prior to tip-off, both he and Jaylen Brown stand to see significant offensive workloads both Monday and so long as Tatum is not in the mix.
Boston Celtics forward Semi Ojeleye will get the start with Tristan Thompsonout Tuesday against the Utah Jazz. Ojeleye as a starter this season is averaging 10.2 points on 45.7 percent shooting and 4.5 rebounds in 27.2 minutes per game. Ojeleye has also knocked down 2.6 threes on 44.4 percent shooting as a starter. Ojeleye is a decent flyer for DFS on Tuesday, while Robert Williams III should also see a boost off the bench. There have been rumors surrounding a Thompson trade, but there is no evidence this is why Thompson is sitting out.
Semi Ojeleye And Javonte Green Coming Off The Bench Friday
Boston Celtics forward Semi Ojeleye and guard Javonte Green will come off the bench Friday against the Atlanta Hawks. Kemba Walker (rest) and Daniel Theis (finger) are back for this game and the Celtics will start their normal, bigger lineup. Ojeleye has been starting for the injured Theis and put up some low-end lines while Green only got the spot start while Walker rested. Both can be left on your wire now with the exception of very deep leagues.
Boston Celtics guard/forward Semi Ojeleye (knee) will play Sunday against the Washington Wizards. Ojeleye was probable to play in this one, but left Friday's contest with knee soreness and there was some concern if it would be a lingering issue. Regardless, Ojeleye will play and most likely pick up his third-straight start. Ojeleye has been playing well and receiving praise from head coach Brad Stevens. Ojeleye does not have the best upside playing alongside Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, but does contribute with limited usage. Ojeleye is an option in deeper leagues, but has not made his way to standard league consideration just yet.
Semi Ojeleye Makes Second Start Of Season Thursday
Boston Celtics small/power forward Semi Ojeleye has been bumped into the starting five for Thursday's game versus the Raptors. Ojeleye has held down a consistent role with the second unit, but he has not scored more than six points in an outing since Jan. 15, which makes him a tenuous DFS asset. Tristan Thompson has been bounced from the starting lineup for the first time in five games, but with Robert Williams II (hip) unavailable, Thompson should see ample rebounding opportunities as a reserve. With Marcus Smart (calf) still far off from a return, Ojeleye has a path to holding down the starting gig should he impress.
Boston Celtics forward Semi Ojeleye had his best game of the season against Cleveland on Wednesday night. Ojeleye filled in admirably for the injured Kemba Walker (knee), Jaylen Brown (hamstring), Gordon Hayward (knee) by scoring 22 points with six rebounds, five triples, two assists, and a block in 30 minutes. Considering he usually plays around 14 minutes per game, fantasy owners shouldn't be rushing to the waiver wire for Ojeleye. Still, he showed he can be a solid contributor if Boston ever has another all-hands-on-deck scenario.
