Skal Labissiere News
Portland Trail Blazers forward Skal Labissiere (knee) has been traded to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for cash. Labissiere is sidelined due to a left knee issue right now, but this isn't an ideal landing spot for him. The Hawks have Clint Capela, John Collins, Dewayne Dedmon, Bruno Fernando, and Damian Jones at the power forward and center position. It's unlikely that Labissiere is able to carve out a reliable role on this team, so fantasy owners can leave him on the waiver wire.
Portland Trail Blazers power forward/center Skal Labissiere put forth a gaudy stat line of 29 points and 15 rebounds across his 41 minutes during Wednesdays victory over the Sacramento Kings, his first and only start of the 2018-19 campaign. Playing against the organization that he began the season with, Labissiere closed it out on the opposite end of the floor, having received nearly as few minutes with Portland as he did with Sacramento. He doesnt appear likely to receive any significant run come Sunday when the Blazers open their postseason schedule against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Sacramento Kings traded forward Skal Labissiere to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday in exchange for forward Caleb Swanigan. Labissiere entered the NBA with so much promise, and he averaging 8.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game across his first 93 games over two NBA seasons. However, he fell out of favor this season in Sacto, registering just 2.8 points and 0.3 rebounds in 13 minutes, barely playing. He'll get a chance to turn over a new leaf and get a fresh start in the Rose City, so perhaps it's not too late for him to bloom as a third-year sensation. Labissiere certainly has the length and scoring ability, and he could block some shots, too.
Sacramento Kings power forward Skal Labissiere put up 19 points on 8-for-15 shooting in Tuesday's loss to the Dallas Mavericks. He also grabbed eight rebounds, had three assists and blocked a shot. There's been a spike in Labissiere's play lately, as he's had at least one block in four straight games and has scored in double figures in four of his last six games. The Kings play the Pacers on Thursday, a team that allows the seventh most blocks per game in the NBA . Indiana has a top-10 scoring defense, though, so the Kings don't have a very high ceiling in this one. Labissiere could be useful in some formats, but he's a risk in DFS.
