Tremont Waters Draws Start In Place Of Marcus Smart On Monday
Boston Celtics point guard Tremont Waters will start in Monday's contest against Toronto, which marks just the second start of his career. Having played just nine minutes across two contests for the Celtics this year, Waters figures to see an uptick in playing time with both Marcus Smart (thumb) and Jeff Teague (ankle) unavailable. Despite not drawing the start, DFS managers can expect Payton Pritchard to shoulder a hefty load as well, as the move likely comes as a means of keeping him with the second unit early in the contest. Waters is a risky one-night DFS punt play, with his extremely limited bench role to return upon Smart or Teague re-entering the rotation, which could come as soon as Wednesday versus the Heat.
Tremont Waters Named G-League's Rookie Of The Year
Boston Celtics guard Tremont Waters has been named the NBA G-League's Rookie of the Year for the 2019-2020 season. He averaged 18.0 points, 7.3 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 1.9 steals, and 2.5 threes in 36 games. Waters played in 10 games for the Celtics, but did not play well during his time on the court. The 22-year-old has potential, but it'll be an uphill battle for him to establish himself in the Celtics rotation. He is not expected to carry much fantasy value into the 2020-2021 season.
