Yogi Ferrell Stays With Clippers For Remainder Of 2020-21 Year

Los Angeles Clippers point guard Yogi Ferrell is sticking with the organization through the season after having impressed in his first three games. Ferrell faces a muddled path to playing time with Reggie Jackson and Rajon Rondo currently ahead of him on the depth chart (with Patrick Beverley also in the mix when healthy), making him a difficult fantasy commodity barring widespread injury to the L.A. backcourt. Ferrell produced double-digit scoring averages during his first two seasons in the NBA, but he has since bounced around the league, primarily as a reserve PG. He holds a non-guaranteed year on his deal to rejoin the Clippers in 2021-22.

Yogi Ferrell Will See Increased Playing Time

Sacramento Kings guard Yogi Ferrell is expected to see increased playing time, according to head coach Dave Joerger. Ferrell was impressive on Wednesday, he dropped 17 points in 16 minutes off the bench. It's unclear how much more playing time Ferrell will receive, but it's unlikely he sees minutes in the mid-20s. The most likely outcome here is Ferrell gets minutes in the high teens or possibly low 20s on some nights. This is a wait and see kind of situation in most formats.

Yogi Ferrell Reaches Agreement With Mavs

The Mavericks and guard Yogi Ferrell have agreed to terms on a new $5.3 million contract that will keep him with the team for the next two seasons. Ferrell was relatively reliable for Dallas in 2018, appearing in 82 games and starting 21 of them. Averaging 10.2 points per contest to close out last season, he also shot an acceptable 37 percent from deep in addition to sporting a 103.8 defensive rating, the best of his career. Though he will see some minutes this upcoming season, they may take a slight dip with the addition of rookie guard Luka Doncic, but with guard Wesley Matthews rumored to be on the move, that could very well change.

Yogi Ferrell Drops 15 Points in 18 Minutes

Dallas Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrell brought some nice energy off the bench for his team in their win over the Blazers on Tuesday, scoring 15 points on a clean 6-for-9 shooting, going 3-for-5 from behind the arc in the contest. Ferrell did most of his damage in the scoring column in this one, posting just one rebound and three assists with no defensive stats in his 18 minutes. Ferrell is a decent streamer for owners in desperate need of some guard stats, but for long-term needs, he's simply too far behind on the depth chart to be counted on in most leagues.

Yogi Ferrell Leads Mavs In Scoring Against Denver

Dallas Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrell had a season-high 24 points on Tuesday, leading the team in scoring against the Denver Nuggets. He was pretty much flawless with his shot, sinking six of seven treys and shooting 9-for-11 overall. Ferrell also ended up leading the team in minutes with 38. He's struggled in recent outings, as he had four straight games without double-digit points, but's he's still forced his way into the starting lineup with Wesley Matthews (hip) out. The Mavs will have fun against the worst team in the league when hosting Memphis on Saturday, and they have a nice pace-up spot the next day against Houston, so Ferrell could be an intriguing fantasy pickup.

Yogi Ferrell Shines in Loss to Jazz

Dallas Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrell provided a good spark off the bench in Saturday's loss to Utah, finishing with 13 points on 5-for-11 shooting, and even ending up leading the team with 35 minutes on the floor. Ferrell, who shot 3-for-6 from deep, also recorded five rebounds and four assists. He finished scoreless in the final game before the All-Star break but has done well after that, leading the bench in scoring on both occasions, while also averaging 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals. Dennis Smith Jr. has been on a really long leash this season, but he ended up playing just 23 minutes against Utah. Ferrell could play a big role again on Monday against Indiana.

Yogi Ferrell Leads Dallas in Scoring Against Houston

Dallas Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrell made his 17th start of the season on Sunday with multiple players out, and had a really good game, leading the team in scoring with 20 points. He shot 7-for-14 from the field and made half of his eight triple attempts, while adding five rebounds and three steals to his stat line as well. Ferrell might be a very useful fantasy play this week, as the Mavs face three teams (Sacramento, Lakers, Utah) that have all struggled against guards this season. He will probably go back to the bench on Tuesday against the Kings, but he should still see plenty of minutes.

Yogi Ferrell Provides a Spark off the Bench for the Mavs

Dallas Mavericks point guard Yogi Ferrell was great off the bench in Wednesday's loss to Houston, shooting 6-for-9, including 4-for-5 from deep, on his way to 19 points. He had only one turnover in 32 minutes and recorded four rebounds and four assists. Ferrell has gotten at least 30 minutes of playing time in six of the last seven games, and he's been productive during that stretch with 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists, shooting 50.7 percent (43.9 percent from deep). He's earning every minute of action he's getting, and there might be more coming his way if he keeps it up.

Yogi Ferrell Posts Double-Double Versus Lakers

Dallas Mavericks point guard Yogi Ferrell managed to post a double-double in rebounds and points against the Los Angeles Lakers, the league's second best rebounding team. The six-foot Ferrell continues to show hustle and determination on both sides of the ball, easily claiming the role as the team's enforcer and grinder. Recently, he has been efficient on offense while also showing he can play alongside rookie Dennis Smith Jr. Ferrell has been slowly finding his rhythm on offense as the season goes on, so expect this spurt to last. He has been more than capable of getting shots off in most matchups, and his speed leads to automatic production. The kicker for Ferrell is his floor, which is increasing every game. As one of the smaller guards, Ferrell always does what needs to be done, mainly to make up for his size. This season he has been playing with more confidence and shooting the ball without hesitation.

Yogi Ferrell Posts Season-High 23 Points

Dallas Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrell posted a season-high 23 points on 9-for-13 shooting to go along with his two rebounds, two assists, two steals and five treys in a loss to the Miami Heat. Ferrell has been receiving minutes in the 30s and has been producing solid low-end value as a result. It looks like he has solidified a role in the Mavericks lineup and continues to shine while Seth Curry (leg) recovers from injury. He should be picked up in all standard leagues for his ability to score and produce across the board.
