The Baltimore Ravens agreed to an undisclosed one-year deal with free-agent safety Anthony Levine on Wednesday. Levine will return for his 10th season in Baltimore and 12th season in the NFL in 2021. He has been a special teams staple and a veteran leader, playing over 50 percent of the team's special teams snaps every year since 2013. Levine missed one game in 2020 due to a nagging abdomen injury, snapping the 34-year-old's streak of 117 straight games played. He still managed to log the fourth-most snaps on special teams, although his defensive snaps dropped to 30, his fewest since 2015. Baltimore's special teams unit finished second overall last year in efficiency, and Levine is a big reason why.
Baltimore Ravens combo linebacker/safety Anthony Levine Sr. finally made a big play against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Levine was named to Pro Football Focus' Team of the Week after registering the highest grade (93.8) of any defender given out by the analytics website for Week 4. Levine registered a season-high six tackles (four solos) and three passes defensed as well as an interception that essentially sealed the victory for the Ravens. While the seventh-year pro doesn't have any fantasy value individually, he is a key cog for one of the best defenses in the league. The Ravens defense has registered 10 sacks and forced nine turnovers (four interceptions, five fumbles) while allowing just over 16 points a game.
