Brandon Coleman On PUP List

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Coleman is on the Physically Unable to Perform list to start training camp with an undisclosed injury. The offseason addition of Cameron Meredith was bad news for Coleman, and this injury doesn't help matters. He's not a lock to make the roster out of training camp.

Coby Fleener, Brandon Coleman Expected To Be On Bubble

New Orleans Saints tight end Coby Fleener and wide receiver Brandon Coleman, as well as running back Daniel Lasco and wideout Tommylee Lewis, are expected to be on the roster bubble in training camp this summer. Fleener didn't live up to his free-agent expectations in New Orleans last year and has been in jeopardy for months, especially after the team signed Benjamin Watson. Watson will enter camp as the probable starter with Josh Hill and Michael Hoomanawanui still on the roster. Fleener won't have any fantasy value unless he surprises in camp and knocks Watson down the depth chart. Coleman had 23 catches for 364 yards and three touchdowns last year, but he lost two crucial fumbles in Week 15. With Cameron Meredith being added in free agency, Coleman's roster spot is far from guaranteed.

Brandon Coleman Re-Signs With Saints

Free-agent wide receiver Brandon Coleman is re-signing with the Saints, according to a source informed of the situation. Coleman has recorded 79 catches for 1,099 yards and eight touchdowns in his four seasons with the Saints, but he had just 23 receptions (a career low) for 364 yards and three touchdowns in a full season in 2017. With Michael Thomas, Ted Ginn and Cameron Role ahead of him on the depth chart, Coleman is unlikely to carve out consistent fantasy value unless an injury happens ahead of him.

Brandon Coleman Becomes Free Agent

The New Orleans Saints didn't tender an offer to wide receiver Brandon Coleman, making him an unrestricted free agent. He's now free to sign with any team, although his market won't be all that robust after he had just 23 receptions for 364 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games last season. Coleman hasn't caught more than 30 passes in a single season in his three years in the NFL.

Brandon Coleman Ruled Out

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Coleman (neck) has been ruled out for the Divisional Round against the Vikings. This is a notable development for the Saints offense as they face a stiff Vikings secondary led by cornerback Xavier Rhodes. Receivers Michael Thomas and Willie Snead will have bigger roles with Coleman sidelined, and perhaps running back Alvin Kamara is more emphasized in the passing attack out of the backfield. Quarterback Drew Brees blew up against the Panthers last weekend, but he'll have a much tougher go of it this weekend on the road.

Brandon Coleman Sitting Out Wednesday

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Coleman (neck) did not practice Wednesday. It remains to be seen how serious Coleman's injury is or whether it will keep him out this weekend in the Divisional Round against the Vikings. If he's playing, Coleman isn't much of a fantasy option against a strong Minnesota secondary. He had just two catches for 13 yards against them back in Week 1 and had four receptions for 44 yards on Wild-Card weekend. Coleman only has three touchdowns this season and hasn't scored since Oct. 22.

Michael Thomas, Brandon Coleman, Josh Hill Not On Injury Report

New Orleans Saints wide receivers Michael Thomas (hamstring) and Brandon Coleman (neck) and tight end Josh Hill (shoulder) were all taken off the final injury report for Week 17 against the Buccaneers. All three players will suit up in a game in which the Saints can clinch the NFC South with a win. Thomas was questionable last week but ended up playing and performed nicely. He should be able to put up even better numbers against a terrible Tampa secondary. Thomas is a strong WR1. Coleman and Hill are little-used weapons in the passing game and don't see enough targets to be fantasy-relevant.

Brandon Coleman Absent Wednesday

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Coleman (neck) did not practice Wednesday. Coleman hasn't had much of a role in the team's passing game in 2017 with the running game mostly carrying them. Coleman wasn't targeted at all in Week 16 and has just five catches in the last three games for 48 yards. He'll continue to split repetitions with Willie Snead behind Michael Thomas.

Brandon Coleman Catches Three Balls, Fumbles Twice

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Coleman had an opportunity to make an impact in Week 15 with Ted Ginn (ribs) inactive. He sure did, just in the wrong way. Coleman caught three passes for 20 yards, but he lost two fumbles that could have cost the team dearly if the defense had not held. Coleman had only caught more than two passes in a game once before this performance, but he hasn't scored a touchdown since Week 7 and is not seeing enough targets to be fantasy viable. Sunday's case of the butterfingers may cost him some repetitions down the stretch.

Brandon Coleman a Possible Bye Week Savior, Even if TD-Dependent

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandon Coleman has played a bigger role in the offense than expected this year and has parlayed it into a career-high three touchdowns already. He's on pace to easily set personal highs in receptions and yards as well, with 12 catches for 191 yards in six games. With Willie Snead suspended for the first three games and then hurt for two more, Coleman has seen a huge spike from last year's 21% snap share. Last week, he was second among WR on the team with 71% snap count and found his way into the end zone against Green Bay. Although Snead may play in Week 8, Coleman still poses a decent red zone threat and could help fantasy teams in a pinch due to the heavy bye week. The Bears are no pushover defensively, but they rank 18th in fantasy points allowed to WR, so it's a decent enough matchup to consider.
