Cameron Batson News
Former Tennessee Titans wide receiver Cameron Batson (knee), who tore his ACL last fall and has been cleared just seven months after having surgery, signed an undisclosed deal with the Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday, according to a source. Batson played in just four games for the Titans last year, bringing in two of his five targets for 15 yards and a touchdown. In his three seasons with Tennessee, the 26-year-old had 22 receptions for 197 yards and two touchdowns on 29 targets over 27 games (three starts). In Atlanta, he'll present more mediocre receiving depth behind Bryan Edwards and rookie first-rounder Drake London. Batson will be competing for a role alongside the likes of Olamide Zaccheaus, KhaDarel Hodge, Auden Tate and Damiere Byrd, among others.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver/kick returner Cameron Batson (knee) suffered a torn ACL in the Monday night win over the Buffalo Bills, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Batson was injured during a kickoff just before halftime and will now miss the rest of the season. While the Titans got a big 34-31 win, it was costly, as they lost both Batson and first-round cornerback Caleb Farley to torn ACLs. Batson hadn't been a big part of the offense through six weeks, catching just two of his five targets for 15 yards and a touchdown, but he was also used in the return game on special teams. Marcus Johnson took over kick-return duties after Batson left the game on Monday.
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Cameron Batson (knee) injured his right knee in the Monday night game against the Buffalo Bills and has been ruled out for the rest of the game. The injury was a non-contact injury, which usually is never good, and Batson needed some help getting off the field while not putting any weight on his injured leg. Batson returned five kickoffs for 16 yards before his injury, with Marcus Johnson replacing him as the primary kick returner. Just based on how it looked, Batson could be in for an extended absence. The 25-year-old entered Monday night's game with just two catches on five targets for 15 yards and a touchdown and two carries for 15 yards in three games for the Titans.
