Giants Take Carter Coughlin With Pick No. 218
The New York Giants selected Minnesota outside linebacker Carter Coughlin with the 218th overall pick in the seventh round. Even while impressing at the NFL combine in February, Coughlin finds himself going in the last round of the draft. The 6-foot-3, 236-pounder can control tight ends at the line of scrimmage, but he's much better at rushing the passer than playing in coverage. If he makes the final roster, expect Coughlin to fight his way into a rotational role on defense.
