Chandler Jones Arrested On Friday

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones was arrested on Friday morning in Vegas for two violations of a domestic temporary restraining order. His bail was set to $15,000 and a court date has been set for Dec. 4. Jones had a social-media outburst just before the beginning of the regular season in which he badmouthed the front office and the coaching staff, and he hasn't played through the first three weeks of the season. The 33-year-old was put on the Non-Football Illness list on Sept. 20 and the team remains supportive of him, but this could be the last straw. As of right now, Jones isn't close to getting on the field for the Raiders in 2023.

Chandler Jones Placed On Non-Football Illness List

The Las Vegas Raiders placed pass-rusher Chandler Jones on the Non-Football Illness list on Wednesday as he deals with a personal issue, according to sources. The Raiders have stood behind him and no one has ruled out a return to the field this year if his situation improves. The 33-year-old veteran defensive end had a social-media outburst just before the start of the regular season in which he badmouthed team ownership and coaching, causing the team to make him inactive for the first two weeks. Jones will now miss more time, and it remains to be seen if he'll even play for the Raiders in 2023.

Chandler Jones Won't Play In Week 1

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones (personal) has been ruled out for Week 1 against the Denver Broncos. Earlier this week, Jones took to social media to speak quite critically about the Raiders organization, including general manager Dave Ziegler and head coach Josh Daniels. Jones has not practiced since then, and it's unclear if or when he will return to the team. For the time being, they'll be without the star 33-year-old, who amassed 38 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and three fumble recoveries last year.

Chandler Jones Unhappy With Team, Not Practicing Wednesday

Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones will not practice on Wednesday after an outburst on social media on Tuesday ripping the organization. When asked if Jones would play in Week 1 against the division-rival Denver Broncos on Sunday, head coach Josh McDaniels said the team is taking Jones' situation "day to day." Jones complained about not being allowed into the Raiders' workout facility over the weekend. He also posted on Instagram in reference to McDaniels, general manager Dave Ziegler and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham, saying he doesn't want to play for the team if McDaniels or Ziegler were in their current positions. It remains to be seen what will happen with Jones, but it's unlikely that he'll suit up this Sunday. Entering the 2023 season, Jones was expected to start across from All-Pro Maxx Crosby at defensive end.

Raiders Put Chandler Jones, Denzel Perryman On IR

The Las Vegas Raiders officially placed defensive end Chandler Jones (elbow) and linebacker Denzel Perryman (shoulder) on Injured Reserve on Wednesday. Jones had to be carted off the field on Christmas Eve, and he and Perryman will miss the final two regular season games. In his first year in Vegas, Jones finished with 38 tackles (21 solo), three tackles for loss, 15 QB hits, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries in 15 starts. Perryman suffered a dislocated shoulder in the same loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 16. The 30-year-old will finish his second year in black and silver with 83 tackles (54 solo), 14 tackles for loss, five QB hits, one sack and two interceptions in 12 games played.

No Concern Over Chandler Jones

Las Vegas Raiders linebacker Chandler Jones has now missed the last four training camp practices, but there is no concern or anything to worry about with Jones. The Raiders aren't disclosing any further information about why Jones isn't participating, but it's obviously a personal issue that isn't deemed serious. The 32-year-old is entering his first season with the Black and Silver after recording 10.5 sacks, 41 tackles (31 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 26 QB hits, four passes defensed, six forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 15 starts for the Arizona Cardinals last year. The four-time Pro Bowler should rejoin the Raiders on the practice field soon.

Raiders Finalizing Deal With Chandler Jones

The Las Vegas Raiders are in the midst of finalizing a deal with pass-rusher Chandler Jones, according to Tom Pelissero. Jones will reportedly be signing a three-year contract worth $51 million. The 32-year-old spent each of the last six seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. Last year, he compiled 10.5 sacks and forced six fumbles. He'll be a big loss for the Cardinals pass rush. Meanwhile, he helps strengthen a Raiders defense that was about middle of the pack across the board last season. With the Raiders standard 4-3 defense, he's likely to shift from outside linebacker back to defensive end, where he played in college and with the New England Patriots.

Broncos Could Be In Market For Chandler Jones

Adding a new pass-rusher to pair with Bradley Chubb is a massive need for the Denver Broncos this offseason, especially in the tough AFC West. The Broncos are also in a very good spot to go out and spend in free agency (around $23 million in salary cap space), even after their blockbuster trade for quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson could help to lure veteran free agents into Denver this offseason as well. NFL Network's James Palmer says to keep an eye on free-agent pass-rusher Chandler Jones. No player has more sacks than Jones since he was drafted in 2012. The Broncos also aren't closing the door on a reunion with Von Miller. The 32-year-old Jones had another double-digit sack season in 2021 and would make Denver's D that much more attractive.

Chandler Jones Not Expected To Remain With Arizona

The Arizona Cardinals are not expected to retain linebacker Chandler Jones. According to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN, "it doesn't sound like Chandler Jones will be a Cardinal in 2022." The 32-year-old racked up 41 tackles, 10.5 sacks, and six forced fumbles over 15 games in 2021. He's recorded double-digit sacks in six of his last seven seasons. The veteran should draw plenty of interest when he hits the open market. Jones has been a boom or bust option in IDP leagues, but his presence would significantly improve any defense that adds him to the lineup.

Chandler Jones Comes Off COVID-19 List

The Arizona Cardinals activated linebacker Chandler Jones and defensive lineman Zach Allen from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. Jones will return after missing the last two games after testing positive for the virus, but the 31-year-old pass-rusher will be available for a showdown against the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Thursday night in Week 8. Jones remains a boom/bust IDP commodity. He had five sacks, six solo tackles (four for loss), six QB hits and two forced fumbles in the Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans but then had only three solo tackles (one for loss) and a fumble recovery in the next four games. Arizona's defense will be stronger with Jones in the lineup, and they could be a sneaky play this Thursday with Packers star wideout Davante Adams unlikely to play after he was put on the COVID-19 list.
